Default Most cost efficient turbo setup for 404?

I am thinking about settin up my 404 to have a turbo setup. It has fully forged parts with -2cc reliefs. I dont know what else really matters in this case.

Would an ls6 cam and 317 heads work well?

Can someone help me throw together a parts list and how much i can get things for:
Turbo 600ish
hotpipe 300ish
truck headers 200ish
intercooler _______
bov _______
fuel pumps 500
cold pipes ________
injectors 300

I am tryin to figure out if i can do this for around 2500$ and be happy with the setup.
I can tune it myself.

A flat top piston with a -2cc relief and a 317 head are going to put your compression pretty high for a turbo build unless you intend on running racegas or E85.

You'll need at least an 88mm turbo with a T6 flange to feed those cubes properly. It's going to be really tough to stay within that budget unless you can get everything second hand.

This doesnt sound like a kill at type of build.....so I dont think a 88 is needed at all. A mild 404? What is that .012 over? I have a 405 thats .021 over on the bore.

Anyways....I built a 6.0 with 317's and a z06 cam and used forced inductions s475 (t6)with a 1.10 housing. Its incredible, esspecially for a 625$ turbo. The problem youll have is fitting the behemouth in there. Its a huge turbo externally in size, but thats why its low cost.

Is having a higher compression engine going to hurt me that much? I believe i am at 11.5 with stock ls1 heads on it. What kind of power can i safely make with some 317 heads?

317's will put you at roughly 11:1. Which is what I'm at, and was running 14lbs from a D1 procharger on my 404. I had meth with low timing and rich tune. I would try and get your compression down to at least 11:1. Or even get the 317's chambers opened up some to get down to around 10.5:1. But some people will tell you not to run over 9.5:1. Me myslef I am a firm beleiver in compression

And I think that s475 in a T6 would get you to 700ish pretty easy.
