Default how do factory 900hp lsx engines sound

Hey everyone

I have been following ricardo inc. for some time. You may no know them but they developed the 7 speed for the veyron. They have been working on a twin turbo ethanol boosted engine they call (EBDI) ethanol boosted direct injection. Its an twin turbo engine that is designed to optimize the best parts of gas, and ethanol with variable boost. With any mixture (at least thats how I understand it).
They claim they have already manufactured and tested their 3.2l TT engine to make 400hp on gas 450hp on e85. With as much as 30% efficiency gains

They a currently installing there 3.2l in 2 1 ton silverados. My thought is if 3.2l can make 450hp why cant 6.4l make 900hp. Anyways ricardo inc. can be found at www.ricardo.com . Here is a more direct link for the EBDI technology
http://www.ricardo.com/en-gb/Footer/...ts/?query=ebdi

Curious to here what everyone thinks.

There are quite a few guys here with even more power that that with smaller displacement. Almost anything can be done with an unlimited budget.... it just all comes down to how much you want to spend

As far as I know I dont think ricardo sells anything. Thought some people would be interested in some of GM's ventures.

got a buddy that has a 5.4 modular motor TT that puts down 1400+ wheel hp on e98, so that means a 6.4 should be able to put down 1700 no problem . that same motor lost 80whp switching to Q116, so what does that tell you.e85 has it benefits, such as cooling, higher octane for detonation, and its cheap to make. the problem you run into when you get to higher hp levels is you need to buy it by the barrel, and test it every time, or you might have a blown motor after a few passes

you can squeeze 1000whp out of the 3 litre supra motor but what good is it if the power band is only between 7000-9000rpm

wow that looks very interesting. I like people are starting to embrace ethanol more and more now. Living in North Dakota it's a pretty big deal out here.

were starting to get more blender pumps and more options for ethanol content in gas as shown in the video. (e20, e30,etc)

For turbocharging e85 and e98 is amazing for power; however remember the environmental impact is that the production of it makes for a nitrogen rich runoff that flows into the Gulf and creates an algae bloom which then dies and makes a dead zone and kills all life in that area. The farms need a better mandated runoff capture processing system before we pollute the entire Gulf..... along with the f*cked up BP oil spill. That being said I'm building an ls2 for boost and plan to run e85. 1000rwhp on $2.50/gallon fuel is too good to pass up!

www.algenolbiofuels.com Take almost everything you know about the production of ethanol and throw it away. According to my math. It would take about 500 square miles of ethanol made from slat water alge to fuel all of the U.S. thats smaller than the county I live in. Ethanol in coming and 100 percent renewable, without using our food stock and we will clean the air as we make it.

Farm runoff isn't as big of a problem as you make it out to be. Although living in San Francisco it doesn't surprise me that you are a bit mis-informed about agriculture.

Funny. I have been looking into ethanol for a couple years. I have never heard anything about nitrogen rich runoff effecting anything. Its possible I guess, its not any worse than pumping and burning oil products.
If your trying to find a way to fuel a car without effecting anything it will never happen. Even your eco friendly prius uses nickel medal batteries minned and melted in canada. Everything for miles is dead around the plant. So much so that nasa uses it for testing moon rovers. Not to mention they put it on a ship send it to china then ship it back.
