Default Whats the lowest PSI that someone blew thier stock LS1 up on?

Im new to the procharger world and i know 7-8 is about the max "safe" limit for a stock LS1 but I see people blowing up their stock LS1 on 7 & 8 psi...so I was curious to find out what is the lowest PSI that someone blew thier stock LS1 up on?

I just bought a 01 WS6 with a P1 on it making 4psi and Im planning on installing a Alkycontrol Meth setup & a dynotune and possibly upping the boost but at this point, keeping the motor alive is more important than making big power. Basically Id rather have 425rwhp and no worries vs 480rwhp with a chance of blowing it up.

That is a very loaded question, and completely relative.

People blow their motors in N/A configurations.

Depends on power adder, timing, IAT's, fuel system, mileage, and many many other variables.

Not trying to be a smartass, just saying...

With meth I would not be scared of 8-9 psi on a stock ls1. Just take it to a GOOD tuner that knows what they are doing.

The enemy is more RPM than PSI related assuming everything else is correct.

I personally think the quality of build (plus tune) and how the person treats the car has a lot to do with reliability. I also think that RPM is a greater risk then PSI.

+1..that and detonation, i ran mine on 14 psi for a while with me tuning (and im no tuner for sure) i sold it and last i heard its still running strong. I kept it under 5800 rpm, kept the afrs about 11/10.7:1, and used a lot of meth. the car had 70k when i got it
