The 4L60 will not live at 850 rwhp. It wont live at 500 rwhp for long. Why are you space limited? My S10 beater has tons of space when compared to an fbody or vette. Do you already have the shortblock built. If not, don't. A 40X will require a large frame turbo to operate efficiently. With a 347 or 364, and a nice midframe, you could reach your goals easily and have a smaller package to deal with.

The trans is a finish line 4l65e level5 sorry. The motor is not built yet. I guess my real question is what is the smallest turbo for that size of motor with those power goals? What turbo would be best for 403 or 370? Thanks again!

run truck manis with twin gt35's or some basic 61mm t3/t4s. best way to fit and make big powah. if the motor is not built yet. run a 370 with higher compression and a good 76mm from precision would do it. gt47-88 is more than enough i made 826 whp uncorrected at 5400 ft of elevation with 13 psi.

My 370 with the pt88 gets me into the 8's at 3800# race weight. Mighty Mouse was deep in the 8's with his and Fireballs 370 went 8.0's IIRC but with a bigger turbo. The point being that you dont need lots of cubes to go fast. I believe that I could benefit from a larger exhaust housing so the PT88/91 is right on the line for a 370 IMO but it seems to be the best compromise of frame size/power ratio. It's weird because these turbos have been around for 10+ yrs I think. The one on my car was originally built in 2001. You'd think someone would have knocked it off it's high horse. Like Sean said, in comparison, the GT47/88 is huge. Seems like the break point is right around the 80mm mark for midframe to large frame housings.
