My friend made Max power at like 5800 I think and then started to drop after that. He is a forged 370 with APS twins, with patriot Stg II 5.3 heads and a mild custom grind cam. Maybe he needs better heads? Wrapping to 7500 is kinda rediculous.

My goal is a 6500 RPM shift point, and I'll probably set the rev limiter at 6700-6800...everything I'm putting in the bottom end can take a lot more (forged crank/rods/pistons and billet mains with really nice fasteners holding it all together...and I'm planning on a nice stable valvetrain as well...but it's a build for a street car, and I don't really want to be revving it much higher...I think I can cam it to make the power I want in that range...I hope.

I have my shift points set at 6700 1st to 2nd 6800 2nd to 3rd iirc. It pulls straight to the shift, but i really dont need to rev it any higher. Its a 370" lq9 eagle rods weisco pistons balanced all arp in bottom. Up top is 317 heads comp valvetrain with a crappy z28 ls1 intake and truck throttle body. turbo is a .96 ar turbonetics 76 bb...

7k is as high as I ever take mine, but I think I'm over revving it, just taking it there due to gearing.

That's as high as I'll usually go on the street. That's also around 120mph in 2nd for me lol.

Did a little more math last night (hope I didn't screw it up like I did the other day when I was tired), and it looks like I want to change to a 3.90 gear and have a limiter right in the 7000-7100 RPM range.

I shift at 5600RPM with the TC76/.96, hit the traps at 6200RPM@129MPH. With the PT88, I shift at 6200RPM, hit traps at 7000RPM@143MPH clipping the limiter. This is a 4850LB 4x4 truck.,3.73 gear, 28" tire 80E unlocked.

Thats the best reply I've seen yet...I'm very excited to see the numbers you put up...my car will weigh in a little (but barely) lighter than your truck.

How much is done to your 80E? Do you use any torque management in your tune?

Wow that's a lotta car! What is it? Stock 80E with a Transgo HD-2 shift kit. It has lasted me 3 yrs, but is about done I think. No matter what I do I can't keep it off the limiter on the 1-2 shift on high boost. No tq managment, just wore out tires lol.

Quick Reply: Turbo 370 guys...how high are you revving?
