Default Patriot Extreme springs - to shim or not to shim

I believe I have been having a valve float issue for the past year and a half. The point in which the boost begins to fall off has gone from 6200rpm last year to 5400rpm now. I ordered some extreme springs and shims from Speed inc. I wanted to shim them for extra seat pressure and insurance. My cam has .639" of lift, I was going to use the .015" shims. But unfortunately they sent ones that don't fit. I just pulled off the first springs, should I just install them or wait for the shims. I was kinda wanting to catch the Super Chevy show this weekend, but I would rather have my car be able to run its full potential.

If you have enough install height to place a shim in, in order to get your spring closer to its coil bind than you should. You springs will run smother and live longer the closer they run to their coil bind.
