Default Got a decent shakedown run finally....

not that great but its my best so far, first passes I have gotten to make since building the current setup some 3 years ago without breaking something. I had almost zero seat time on this thing at the track.

ran couple of mid 10s at 145 ish, don't remember exactly... let the car cool, then ran this:

http://www.fquick.com/videos/Getting_there.../9921

or save as:

http://www.force-fed-fabrications.co.../mybestrun.wmv

I will confirm the full slip tomorrow, but off the top of my head it was 2.0 60 ft, 7.0 at 115 1/8, 10.3 at 153 1/4. DA was ~2600. It was nasty hot.

obviously the launch is lazy as hell. I was on the transbrake, and could only make about 2 lbs of boost, if I could get more like 5 lbs it would be much better.... the supra guys use nitrous for this reason lol, but I am wondering what else I can do to get 2-3 more lbs of boost on the brake before leaving?

Im happy to make some runs finally, look forward to about degrees cooler weather to go back out.

Hard to tell, but do you have a 2-step on the car? That will give you some more boost on the brake.

no 2 step right now, not sure how that would help, I need to get the RPM's higher basically... I guess I could do yet another converter adjustment, but I really like the feel of this converter, specially on the top end

It'll work. Let some of the big names get in here and they will tell you the same thing. You will have to adjust timing and fuel when you are on the 2-step, but itll work.

Have you played with timing(more) and fuel on the transbrake? What rpm does it see at the launch now? Some people have been talking about advancing the camshaft as well to help with spooling.

Nice run Tiago! 153 is rediculous! What kind of tires are you on? Are they like low pro DR's or something? Grats on the run!

Holy back half !!! Almost a 40 mph gain from the 1/8, holy **** !!!
A 2-step will allow you to go wot on the brake without the rpm's going to the moon.
From testing mine, going wot on the 2-step builds boost WAY sooner than a part throttle footbrake to a higher rpm.
I can go to 3,500rpm+ real quick foot braking it, but it builds boost sooner even with the 2-step set to only 2,500rpm with my foot to the floor.

Great passes Tiago! Good luck making more progress!

Killer shakedowns. Add some timing and a 2 step and you'll be surprised.

Congrats Tiago. We were just talking about you the other day wondering where you were at on your own car etc... Do a little more research on the 2 step and fueling for your launch and you will have it!

I wired my xfi 2-step and t-brake together to one button. Think of them as a single system. It works great building boost. I would try one if i were you man.

Damn good MPH!!!

At 3500 rpm, I can only build about 2 psi on the tbrake. At 3500 rpm on the 2 step, I make 6-7 psi. 2 step is mandatory.

Good MPH though.

thanks guys, who's 2 step do you recommend?

I think I am only around 2500 RPM's on the brake, will confirm.

the tires are M&H drag radials 345/35/R18. They hook real good but they are tall, 29" tall I think, plus my 3.08 rear end, makes it kind of sluggish off the line, unless it has some boost!!!

I was using the ligenfelter unit up until recently. I just sold it because my new AEM computer has one built in. I liked the other one alot though. Very simple.

Is 2500 RPM as high as you can go on your converter? If so, do a log on the converter and see what area you are in in the timing table. You can run 30-40* at these low RPM's without detonation and it will help you to get up higher on the converter. If that doesn't work, you need to have the converter loosened up a little. You need to be able to get to 4K-4.5K on converter. Then you use the 2 step set below that to dial in your launch RPM. Then the boost controller dials in the launch boost.

I like timing pull (-14 degrees commanded) on the trans brake more so than a 2step. Harder on your spark plugs and turbo, but it works well.

good point on the timing, I need to look at this, I don't think I have enough timing in this area
