Default Just how far has a stock computer been taken?

For some strange reason, I've decided to try and see how far we(We being myself and Jim at Speed Inc) can push a stock ECU. What's the quickest someone has gone with a stock computer?

Here's some passes from late in the season.

Jay.. I wanna say harlan at 8.29 is the fastest someone has been.

I will say this.. most people on here don't think you can go very fast with stock heads with out pushing water... BUT ITS ALL IN THE TUNE!

my car has 317 heads and Gm head gaskets... no orings no special tricks and such.
knock on wood but thanks to JIM @ SPEEDINC my car never pushes water.

I'm pretty sure Koolrayz is running a stock PCM (8.2 something).

Does it matter which "stock" computer you going with - LS1 v LS2?

Thanks,
Dave

Looks like a fun one to drive! I'm assuming you run an injector driver and low imp to run like that on corn?

Very very very true. We ran stock 317's with stock size studs and GM head gaskets last year and it was the tune that was making me lift the heads. I was the numb nuts behind the computer last year though.

Thanks Jason, I appreciate it. Congrats again on the win, spectacular show!

Oh and Haider, your car doesn't push water because I drained it all out. It's my new trick

I thought he had twin 66s, and eventually ran 8.1x?

we have gone a best of 5.34 at 131 in the 1/8 with the stock PCM using HP Tuners 3 Bar set up and 160# high impedance injectors from FICInjectors.
I think it would go a low 8 second pass, but we don't have enough rpm wth the glide, 3.73 gears, and 28 inch tall tires.
Last time we ran it out the back door it went a 8.53 at 154 dancing on the rev limiter for a long time. It cost me a set of valve springs so we are not doing it again.
