Depends on what you're doing but a glide is definitely better than any 350/400. Don't listen to the people who say Glides arent "streetable." They probably havent driven one/had one on the street. They are MORE streetable than a TH transmission...Fact.
With this, you will enjoy it way more than a 3 speed and a less efficient Tnetics.
Josh, no offense. I respect the work you do, but start using Precision Turbos, utilizing Powerglides with a Neil Chance converter and you will have happier customers and faster ET's.

I have multiple 7 and 8 second street cars running Turbonetics Turbo's . Not all of them are internet/LS1Tech jockeys. Sucks as the press is always good. At the end of the day I use Turbonetics, Borg Warner, Precision, Garrett, and several custom units. Its all about what the customer wants.
You are correct in the Fact that there are always better Turbo's, Tansmission's, Conveter's and so forth that will yeild better ET's. However those components are not always in the bugets of the customer. I make sure my customers get the best components that they can get with in thier respective budget.

I prefer a TH400 but,
th350 w/brake 3000 Stall.
With good gas, a solid tune, and your planned 15lbs of boost, 9's should come easily.
sounds really close to my build..
forged 347 wiseco/eagle stock crank
ported ls6 heads custom cam
tc76
50mm tubrosmart BOV and wastegate
4l80 3400 stall.
kill mode will be 17+psi
9s really possible in a heavy GTO???
OP.. i would for sure be lookin at dual intanks..
keep us updated on your trip to ythe 9s... hope to be there soon one day!
hopefully we are on the right path!
im goin to more then happy running in the mid-low 10s but a 9.9999 is a 9 so i would be stoked for that..

Hey guys, don't mean to be hijacking the thread, but if you have easy access to e85, would you consider doing the conversion? from what I understand it's pretty easy with some 60lb or 80lb injectors and dual walbros. Just need to tune for it and makes sure you can supply enough fuel. Sounds like there is good returns on e85 and allows for more timing. Thoughts? I'm doing a single turbo setup this winter so I've thought about it since I have a couple gas stations within a mile of my house with e85.

if you want to make big power on e85 then you need huge injectors...
also just depends on where you are in the country..
e85 is all over the mid west... and its cheap...
out in the central valley of cali... i know of one pump station that has it... and thats out of a 50+ mile radius.
OP Tial makes good stuff and fairly good prices too.. just make sure its big enough..

Sounds like a solid build. IMO just go with what you want and what will fit your driving style. You can always lose weight in the end to get where you want or upgrade compononents here and there. IMO it's all about matching the components to you, your car and what you want to do with it.
