Default new build, 5.3 vs 6.0

old combo was a 6.0, l92 heads ( ~9.5 to 1) truck intake and 02 zo6 cam...

new motor, aluminum 5.3 , 243 heads (~10.1), 02 Z06 cam....

everything else being the same, do you think 8 psi on the 5.3 will be close to 5psi on the 6.0 ?

I like my aluminum 5.3, but I'd think the l92/6.0 would make more power.

If it was an lq4 before and an l33 now, I'd bet the l33 will take more power, the rods won't bend as quick.

what turbo are you using because i was wondering this also, as i will be using a tc-78 on a LQ4, and thought about using a LM7 5.3 in hopes to have a more effiecient setup concerning the f1 turbine wheel in the tc-78, im afraid that at 364 ci, the lq4 would become inefficient and exceed 2:1 backpressure.
im just wondering if the 19~c.i. would be worth it. i already have the LQ4 but could pick up a LM7 cheap and use my 317 heads...
let me know what you think.

subscribing!!!

I Have been wondering this myself for a little while now, currently i have a LQ4 with 02 Z06 cam and 918's with a s375 76mm 1.15 AR see right at 18.5 pounds of boost in a foxbody mustang and have been 5.67 124mph and was wondering if the a smaller motor with a little more boost and being more efficient would run faster?

Also interested in the results...thought about throwing a turbo on my 5.3 and pulling the magnuson blower off but didn't know if a 6.0 would be better

If you already have the magnuson, just spin it faster, and let that thing EAT
