When is somebody gonna break the LSX record?????
Mike Moran has had the top spot for a loooong time. Over 4 years in fact. Whats keeping cars from going that fast??? As many advances and technology we have seen since then, I'm surprised that someone hasnt taken him off the top spot....
I think the biggest difference is in the tires. The top two cars on the list are both big tired cars(one being australian), Im not sure but i would say the top 4-5 are actually. I wanna see some of these heavy hitters put a big tire on, and go for some records!!! I think phil will be the first to do it, but he said he just doesnt think he can 60' like the bbc cars. But now there is talk about him goin bbc. Paul was close, but decided to go bbc too
will the record EVER be broken?????

The drag radial crowd goes quicker and gets closer every year. I can think of at least 6 drag radial cars that will be quicker next year than they were this year. As far as the big tire, I think they work hard to get the suspension working with the radials and it would be simply too much of a process to get it working right with a big slick for no payback except bragging rights.

There is no doubt with the changes we're making we will go 6's very shortly, the question is how deep into the 6s. Its a tough comparison because the technology has come soo far since Kurts record. The LSx with the right setup is a easy bottom 6 second combo in a pro-stock style car with the technology that is currently available.
We will see 1.12-1.15 60's next year, I know how it needs to get done and what needs to be done to get there. We dont need a big tire to go that fast.

The Australian Ute went 6's with some issues, they should get past the record we set soon. My engine that I had in Casper was only 352ci and built out of a 6.0 block, it only produced about 1900hp as the 205 mph indicates. The newer 427 type engines will make more power by 4-500, but nobody has put one in a big tire car yet. Casper was around 2900 pounds, much lighter cars out that can handle that power. With the big tire we left on 25psi netting a 1.09 sixty foot, the radial cars would have trouble doing this unless they were lighter.

Many have the engine power now, its going to be getting the track and time. The CV car in australia has the weather now to give it another try, while we are heading into our off season......

We will be in Las Vegas next week trying to re-set the record in a 3500 lb car on drag radials. NO FULL TUBE CHASSIS **** for us, gettin it done with stock suspension and radials is where its at!!! Hell, if we threw our engine combo in a tube chassis car we would be running low 6's, but thats too easy, we like a challenge. We already went 209mph in a car that weighed 3480lb, just think about how much hp we are making!

I'm betting that the Ute or Andreas will have the record over the next year due to chassis and raceweight. Good luck to the worm, I hope you take the record!
