Default 90* bends = restriction??

Im looking to make my cold side more effiecient, I counted how many 90* couplers I have on my cold side, I have 4 of the
2.5" 90's (the small silicone bends), and the cooler has a 90 out on the front side....does this affect anything?

Of course the tighter the bend the more restriction you have. If some how you can do 45* bends with new piping will help out a lot and bump all the plumbing up to 3" that would help too.

Your thinking is sound. A few years ago I modded an intercooler to eliminate two 90deg silicone couplers coming off the core. It was a Honda that ran low 9's. Car picked up 2 or 3 mph by doing so.

ya I just put this togther as my first system not knowing if i would even like it, but i do and want to make it better.

Im thinking I have a guy to weld, if I could add 3" ends to my intercooler, then just redo the piping to 3"

http://www.pipeflowcalculations.com/...ecoefficientK/

Each elbow is equivilant to X feet of straight pipe.. Depending on radius, ID, and what not you should be able to figure the resistance pretty easy.
