Kytp Tube Header Issue????
Hey all,
Im having a problem with my kytp tube header. It is now hitting my shock tower. Any ideas and suggestions on what to do with this situation would be great! If it hitting and rubbing will cause no issues I guess Ill just leave it. Ive attached a few photos.
Thanks

Only time I have seen that happen the guy put poly motor mounts in and it took car of it. I have had about 20 sets of those headrs in my mock up clip with no issues. Your other option is to grind the ridge that the header is hitting down. I have done that several time to gain a little cleaance on cars I have done big tube headers on.

I already have poly mounts in... Would leaving it hurt anything at all?

You could try loosening the motor mount bolts both the through bolts and pedestal bolts and see if you can get enough clearance. Next you could try loosening the K-member bolts and seeing if you can push the whole thing over to gain some clearance.

Drilled out the driver side alignment tab for the kmember and got it to slide over towards the passenger side. I now have about 1/4 inch clearance. Seems to be the quick fix if anyone else runs into this issue.

Its common issue with aftermarket K-members in general. I have several diffrent units sitting in the shop I use for mock up. None of them posostion the engine in the same place and the factory unit.

You'll be fine. How much angle do you think the drive shaft moves while driving? Do you think the K member ends up in exactly the same spot everytime it gets installed?

Well the position its in now is where its been for two years without issues. When I swapped out one tube kmember for a different tube kmember is when it moved so basically I just moved it back to the spot it had been in.
