Default boost on a stock ls1 crank??

hey guys im going to buils an ls1 for my turbo ls1.. right now im running a stock internals on a 98 wil 9 lbs of boost... im geting another ls1 from a guy i work with, i want to forge it just want to know if its worth the money to buy a forge crank... i know the 6.0 can handle about 1000hp, not sure about the ls1 crank.. thanks guys!

To my knowledge ls1, ls2, 6.0, 5.3, and maybe the 4.8 all have the same crankshaft. Unless your wanting to spend extra money or stroke it no reason to replace crank.

Stock crank will hold 1000rwhp without issue.

Pretty much your best option. Another option for a piston would be diamond but weisco seem to be the best ready to install pistons.

Wiseco and Diamond are both good pistons but neither one of them makes a stock bore piston. You will have to get the block machined to accept the larger piston. This only applies if you are doing the building of the shortblock yourself. Mahle is the only one I've found to make a stock bore forged piston.

They're better than the stockers but are lacking alittle compared to Wiseco and Diamond.
