Question your thought on rod bolts???

Ok im in process of d1sc build. Gonna run 8-9 lbs. I mentioned adding hardened rodbolts to the engine. My tuner questioned me for why I wanted to do this. Ok am I missing something. I have the resources to easyly do this, but really more concerned about the tuners thoughts. Said he would have it in the back of his mind while tuning that rod bolts were recently installed!! Your 2 cents

your stock rod bolts should hold 8-9psi inless you have some crazy flowing heads, that make a ton of power on low boost, im kinda the same way, i know you are not really disturbing the bearing but the retorqe on the the rods/bearings might pull on the the rod cap a little different causing failer to the bearing, thats your call

If you don't plan on spinning it high rpm then leave them alone IMO, from what we've seen at 600+ rwhp and 6300-6500rpm the rod bearings always looked great.
