Default valve float with FI

Are LS6 springs sufficient on 317 heads and an LS6 cam up to a certain point for a turbo application? At what point would a stiffer spring be required? In sticking with the "budget build" theme, they are a good bit cheaper than some of the dual type springs.

You can get away with running a motor under light boost (say up to 5 pounds or so) with stock(ish) valve springs. Its recommended to run dual valve springs in any FI application (especially if you plan on running the motor under any significant boost). You can get a set of new Patriot Duals for under 300 bucks.

look into the elgin beehive springs then if you're doin a stocker 5.3l , they're stronger than the comp cams springs that seat at 130ish, i used a thin spring shim and im seating at 150ish on my budget 80mm b.t 5.3l. i picked up a new set offa ebay for less than 100bucks shipped
