Default Gains from a pt88 to a garret t4 91

What gains do you think could be had at the same boost levels? car made 895 before but couldnt make any more than 19lbs and didnt get much gains from 16 to 19.

The most I think I seen made was like 960rwhp or something with mighty mouse back in the day with his six speed set-up and I think that was on 17 wheel/tire combo (could be wrong) Most of the dyno numbers Ive seen have been with smaller cubes then you and I have so there not working the turbo as hard. We did everything with the tune, so I would say its good but who knows. I have a friend that made 950 to the tire with the same turbo and cubes as me but he was on 21lbs, racegas, and has a few better parts than I do. btw mine was through a th400, 9 inch. and 28'' slicks. Called precision and forced inductions and they both said that turbo was way small for the cubes. Said the turbo was probably having backpressure issues and was probably out of the eff. of the turbo.

I know the garret will make more power but trying to see if its enough. You have to remember those numbers are flywheel ratings also, the pt88 which is a t4 is rated at 1250. The reason for saying t4 is sometimes people new to turbos get the pt88 mixed up with others that are way bigger.

I would think taht at the same boost level it would make the same power since the backhousings are the same size. I would hope that it would be capable of producing more boost though.

didnt know if the the smaller turbine housing would cause more backpressure issues. I think mighty mouse posted a dyno video with this turbo a few weeks ago but I never seen a previous dyno run with the auto. I dont remember his cubes for sure but think he's like 364 or something so he wouldnt be pushing the turbo as much.

IMO, the T4 flange with a .96 A/R is too small for the 364-370ci motors. Wish I had the resources to do a back to back test on upgrading the front cover vs the exh housing/turbine.

what fuel are you running? whats your injector duty cycle? AFR? A2A? Meth? CR?

If the boost increase didnt show gains, I would look in that direction..

Fuel
Air
Fire

Thats it.. you added air.. whats goin on with everything else??

sometimes taking a simple approach really helps.. Goodluck!!

He said he was on slicks, and slicks kill power dyno wise, I've seen 40-60 hp gains on the dyno going from a slick to a radial
