Default Can I use ls9 head gaskets on stock head LS1?

Wasn't sure if this was possible or if the bore size is different. Trying to figure out what my best option is for head gaskets on a stock block ls1 running 8-10lbs of boost. I'm also getting ARP rod and head bolts for extra security.

Ok, then for a boosted engine is the GM LS1 MLS sufficient for 10lbs max? What thickness is ideal. .056 or .051?

Do arp head studs and I run the ls9 gasket on my 5.3 with no issues.

^isn't the bore diameter something like 4.090 for those ls9 gaskets? Is that going to be an issue with a ls1 with 3.9xx bore? I wouldn't mind using them, they seem cheap enough. The studs are a good $100 more. Is there a benefit to having them if only pushing around 16-17lbs down the road?

Youll be fine with ls1 MLS gaskets and GM head bolts at 10psi.

You'll hardly find much cheaper than factory GM gaskets, and plenty of people pushing more than 16psi with them.

Unless you have very good reason for not using studs.....use studs.

I'm also considering getting the 317 heads along with the ARP studs just to help bring down the compression. If I go that route is there going to be an issue with the bore size on an ls1 using those heads and what gaskets would you run with the 317's?

If the LS9 gaskets (or any of GM's other MLS choices) where a thickness that'd work with my built bottom end and head combo to set my CR and quench I'd have them already...but I need 0.040 thick, so I have to spend more and go with Cometics...oh well.
