That should be a rocket - have fun! That E85 is killer stuff if you can get it nearby.

After wasting my time reading your thread you really shouldn't be commenting on anyone's turbo build. 11 to 1 will be the limit i think with E85.

When considering running E85 does it affect what parts you use in the build? I know you need to take into consideration injectors, fuel pump, etc. How about compression ratio, turbo, etc?

To be honest, Adam bought the car with the motor like that in it and we ran a little nitrous on it last year (6.90's @ 101 in the 1/8 @ 6000 FT DA's) and decided to try out the turbo on this motor. Is it the typical setup you might see in a turbo motor? NO, but we are going to find out if it will stay together or not..LOL It only has 4 bolt heads, standard studs and cometic gaskets so we will be easy on the tuneup (i'm the tuner). We would love to see some 5's in the 1/8 out of this thing at our altitude.

IMO you can run more compression on a E85 motor (street) and not worry about getting into trouble but on a race type deal (what we will be doing with the car) you would be fine with a higher compression with gasoline as long as the tuner has his crap together and the car was setup right. I like the idea of more usable NA power and being able to make more power on less boost with a little more compression. The turbo would really need to be picked out for the application, regardless of the fuel used. I'm no expert, just my opinion.

I think because we havent done it yet.. just going by what some people say is the sweet spot with e85. My stock long block 6.0 went 6.50's with 10 to 1 comp and a y2k 80mm on e85.

I love E85

Get a tester! Test your fuel before you turn up the wick on it!

No doubt, we will definitely keep a good eye on it. The only bad thing is the closest E85 is like 4 hours from us, so we have to stockpile it..

Thats funny you say that... we ran e85 last year in my car and my friends turbo mustang we bought a tester and it tested out to like 95% ethanol. We just decided to mix it down with c16 i wasnt expecting 95% though.

It comes off... I have a y2k 80 we both bought these turbos from a friend of ours that had them laying around. I think they are 6 or 7 years old. I know they have the bigger turbine wheel and the .96 ar exhaust housing. I think they made 2 or 3 versions of the y2k turbos. Hell they still have the stickers on the compressor covers before they engraved them.

Looks like Spoolin Perf. makes a nice crossover/hot side. Would like to see this thing move out as well, especially on E85.

We will be working on the car diligently over the next couple of months trying to get ready for our season to start in April. I will keep the pictures and updates come as we make progress.
