Default Project Instant Boost. Pic Heavy

Hi Everyone...so i finally finished my quest for a turbo, AC, and great street manners.

I built this setup with a tight budget and some leftover parts.

My setup consists of the following:

Stock Pass Manifold (free)
Flipped PS Truck Manifold (15 bucks)
(2) Deltagate wastegates (50 bucks each)
(2) stock wrx BOV (0.99 each)
(1) Garret GT4088R ball bearing turbo
(1) Ebay A/W intercooler (free!)
Relocation bracket for Alt (10 bucks)

Boost is instant because of the short run of IC piping. Car makes about 7psi at this time. Just running gate pressure.

I was able to keep my AC by sort of running this in a PTK style, but used a custom motor mount. Pics are below:

The key to this all working is the motor mount setup. I built this mount using some plate, square tube, and a leaf spring bushing from a jeep.

The next crucial component was moving the radiator forward and extending the AC lines.

The rest of the kit:

Interesting pic....This is a "cat"....The car is running a functioning cat, but for visual inspection, i didnt want to have to explain anything.

Home made boost Actuated cutout

Exhaust tips tucked up. SLP 2otl

Good thing you figured it out because that oil leak could've gotten expensive

Hi Guys. To answer your questions:

1. IAT's are around +20 ambient at this time.

2. The intercooler really isn't big enough to go past 8-9 psi in my opinion. Its about the same size as a vortech unit.

3. My future Brother in law didnt need the IC anymore.

4. Info on the Cutout to come later.

Thanks!

How fast does it spool? How much power are you making? What's your opinion on that intercooler setup, does heat ever become a serious issue? (for DD and road racing?) Thanks!

Spool is instant. I wouldn't run the cooler on a road course but it seems ok for the street and a drag run. Its similar to the vortech g trim unit. I have a crappy cellphone vid of 7 lbs.

Actually...I think it's almost too quick to spool. It spools mid throttle trying to drive like a normal person lol.

Now that's what I'm talking about! I'd love to see what the dyno graph would look like with this.

The turbo us equivalent to a 64mm. Its responsive and doesn't really run out of steam.....I do have plans for a compound set up involving a rear mount.

I will have an a2a front mount ic blowing into the inlet of this gt4088r.

Should be a total handful!
