Default Physical Size and Turbine Wheels: 7675, PT80, PT88

More questions in anticipation of upgrading my turbo.

I know the 7675 has the 75mm turbine wheel, and it is relatively small physically.

How big is the turbine wheel in the PT80 and the PT88?

I have a good idea on the physical size of the PT88, but what's the PT80 like? Is it smaller like the 7675 or bigger like the PT88? Or in between?

I really can't find much info at all on the PT80, and I'm thinking it might end up being the perfect compromise for me.

Thoughts?

I want 140s in the 1/4. ~4200lbs, I go 134-136 on my TC76 now.

JZ from FI posted that the PT88 had an 87mm turbine. Some guys said their PT had an 83mm. But they had older units. I've yet to see anyone personally measure and post info. It also wasn't clear whether that was inducer or exducer size.

I hope that the PT88 doesn't come with different turbine wheels. I just got a bigger exhaust housing for mine and had it coated already assuming that it would work.

If you're asking me, it is currently a T4 with a .96 A/R. The new housing that I bought (but have not yet installed) is a T6 1.00. This will not be an easy swap and I intend on making it even more complicated than it needs to be as I would like to be able to get atleast one puller fan on the radiator after I'm done by offsetting the turbo to one side. Here's where it sits now.

The Pt88 has a 94mm exh wheel. It's a tad laggy but makes huge power over the Tc76 at anything over 14psi. Below that the tc76 runs better. I have a tc76 and Pt88t4 side by side. What do you want to know?

I've seen your pics comparing the PT88 and the TC76 before. They were very helpful. I have them saved on my computer.

I'm still leaning towards the 7675. Still no info on the PT80 though.

The pt88, pt80, and 7675 (gts) all share the same compressor cover.......... the bearing housings and exhaust housings are way bigger on the pt's though

Bearing housing and exhaust housing size are almost identical in size from the 7675 to the TC76

The 7675 has done over 900 whp on these engines, which should get your goal easy enough I would think

To go from 135 to 142 will take 130-150 more HP showing. I don't know if the 7675 will make that over a tc76. I'd call comp, and precision and see if they can do something custom that would fit.

I think I'm just going to swap to a 7675 for now and see what it does for me. It's an easy swap and should be relatively cheap as well.

Way too small on the exhaust side IMO to run as a single on 370ci.

Pics! My PT88 has a 1.25'' thick adapter on back, and TC76 has a 1.5'' so they can be swapped back and forth S480 is a 83mm exh wheel 1.10 T6 AR. The PT88 94mm exh wheel dwafs the S480, 83mm. The TC76 is a toy...

Yea, I know it's not ideal. But it is 7mm larger than my current exhaust wheel and should be good for 100-200hp. Since it'll be a direct drop in replacement, I gotta give it a shot.

If I'm seeing the tape measurements correctly the TC76 compressor housing is about 6.5-7" and the PT88 is right around 8"? The 7675 compressor housing is the same as the PT88 right? So a 1" difference between 7675 and TC76? Nicd just went 151 mph with his 76GTS (same thing as 7675) using a 3" down pipe, but he is at 3400lb raceweight. Maxing out the 7675 should get you pretty close but you would really be better off with something like the S380R from bullseye as you will be pretty far off the compressor map with your 370.

Pic came out wierd for some reason. The Tc76 is about 7 1/4", and the Pt88 is ~7 3/4".

The PT88 is a good deal taller than the TC as well. That's my main concern.
