Arrow Forged LS3 Twin Turbo Trans Am Build

Guess it's about time to post a build thread on here. People keep asking me when the car will be done, lol. So here it is...

Before I started the build it was a stock bottom end ls1 with heads/cam/intake, made 468/418 on motor.

468 got boring after a while, so I decided to do something a little more radical. I always wanted to do a huge build on my car, but I either never had the money, or a place to work on my car while it was down.

Goal is 1000whp.

The new build:

Motor:
LS3 block (bored .010 over)
Wiseco 4.07 boost pistons/rings
Eagle rods
stock 6.0 crank
ARP head studs
ARP main studs
Doweled mains
Precision Oil Pumps 10296 Melling oil pump
Single rollmaster HD timing chain
LS9 head gaskets
Ported LSA heads
Stock LSA valves
Patriot Extreme .660 lift springs
Custom spec'd cam
Vic Jr intake
DB rods elbow

Turbo:
Twin Precision 66mm turbos .81 AR exhaust housings
Tial 38mm wastegates
Tial 50mm BOV
Bell core intercooler
DBRods turbo headers
eBoost2 controller

Suspension:
BMR turbo k-member
BMR upper/lower a-arms
BMR adjustable rear control arms
AFCO double adjustable coilovers all around

Drivetrain:
Moser M9 Fabricated 9"
Converted TR6060
Mcleod Twin RXT (rated to 1100whp in a '10 Camaro)
PST driveshaft

Fuel:
Custom fabbed DBRODS 20 gallon fuel cell
-10 AN feed
-8 AN return
ID2000 injectors
Aeromotive 13110 Regulator
Magnafuel 4303
e85

Miscellaneous:
Kirkey race seats
17x9.5/17x11 Fikse Aros
M&H 325/40/17 DRs
No AC/heat

Tearing it down to start the build:

The new block:

LSA heads, sent them off to get ported:

BMR Turbo K-member, upper/lower A-arms, LCAs, and AFCOs:

The new Moser FAB 9:

Painted it gloss black:

17x9.5/17x11 Fikse Aros. Picked these up from a member on here.

The new TR6060, converting it by replacing the tailhousing with a T56 tailhousing and swapping mainshafts with a 31 spline T56 magnum mainshaft. Only difference is it sits 3/4s of an inch further back than a T56, no biggie.

Getting everything off the bumper to start prepping and painting the engine bay:

Deleted AC:

Cleaned and prepped:

Passenger side:

Engine bay painted:

And this is how it sits as of right now, made the AC delete panel, bolted the PCM back up, and did the wire mod. Waiting on cam and lifters and the heads to get back from porting to finish the motor, after that I can bolt the motor in with the front suspension.

So basically what's left:

- finish building motor
- mount radiator/fans
- order center section/axles/torque arm for rear end
- brakes
- driveshaft
- clutch
- fuel system
- turbo kit

I look forward to you being back on duty with this thing. I am glad you are doing it right, buying good parts and having DB Rods be the build shop.

It might be a little faster than your previous set up.

You're about 10 steps ahead of me, but you're doing pretty much exactly what I'm doing with my car. The only differences are the built bottom end, slightly larger turbos, and little odds, and ends.

Look like a nice build. VERY similar to my old setup. I also did ac/heat! and kirkeys and I would advise against that strongly. The lack of AC in the TX heat and the extremely uncomfortable kirkeys are one of the main reasons I decided to sell the car. It gets old very fast...

Looks great so far! Great parts! What size Bell Core intercooler are you going with? Also, are you going to paint that A/C delete panel as well? Kinda looks outta place with the rest of the engine bay.

Does DB Rods have a site? I'm in Dallas working on a jet boat, and I'd like to hear/see more on the turbo headers.

I think I would be ok for my goals with the 1000s, but a buddy of mine has the hookup with ID, so I might get the 2000s. I'm not sure, I will decide when I am ready to start on the fuel system.

Yeah, I might keep the stock seats for now, and just use one kirkey if I ever decide to take it to the track... A/C I'm not really worried about as I hardly used AC when I did have it, haha. Do you have a build thread for your old setup?

I do plan on painting the panel, probably this weekend or next. The intercooler will probably be a 24 x 12 x 6 core. $897.00 from bell part# A600240120. Flows 2455 CFM, enough to support well over what I plan on making.

He does not... I need to make him one though...haha. He does everything custom, so you'd have to get in touch with him if you want something. His sn on here is DBRODS. Here is a set of headers for a car that's currently in the shop:
