Default A year ago today I took the stock shortblock record...

My rx7 went 8.985 and took the stock shortblock record then a few weeks later smashed the oil pan when it did a bumper stand, the rx7 just sit in storage with no motivation, the motor/trans got put in my ltd daily driver, beat on all year. Well the record got beat a few weeks back, we decided to do something about it. I pulled the motor back out of the ltd(same motor from last year I got the record on, now with who knows how many beatings on it this year) and decided to put it back in the rx7....

Last Saturday we started working on the rx7, as of 1pm yesterday it started and ran, 6pm headed to the track, we made one 1/8th hit, one 330ft hit(time slip got screwed so no data), then one full hit and did this...

1.409
3.794
5.777
124.17
8.918
156.73

We'll be hitting up another track a few hours away in two weeks to turn the boost back up to where it was in the ltd and actually leaving hard to see what it does, figured this was good enough for tonight since we only made a few hits and the car just got running hours before.

You weren't bullshitting when you said it wouldn't take long.

I can see this easily taken away from me, hopefully in Wichita we can get more hits on the car with it turned up to see what it'll really do!

with having some new parts in the mix, lower boost and a soft leave and 60', i'd say there's still alot hiding. Congrats on the pass!

Post up the details from the slip. I was really close to selling my rx7 for a fox earlier this year! Anymore details on the setup?

That is my plan, especially in spring! I was told no way a stock shortblock could go lower 8's by a big name guy, I want to prove him wrong!

Man that is just amazing.

Not trying to discredit the run or the car or the combo, but what really is the race weight on this thing?

I haven't put it on the scales this year with the changes, but was 2600lbs last year.

Man if my car weighed that much I'd be running 5.50's!
