VS racing can get the GT45 in 68-88mm sizes
the gt45 80mm is basically the MAGNUM 80mm that some people were selling, that turbo sounds awesome and makes great power!
i have done 700whp on 2 cars with that turbo, i really like it
the gt45 68mm i have done 600+whp on 4.8's

Matt, I'm also curious what stopped you from going higher than 600 rwhp on the 4.8.
Were you getting knock at a 15psi, blew engine, etc.
I also have a 4.8 going into a build, and I'm going to be using the GT45 (68mm)
Was planning to run 17 psi with meth/water on 91.... hoping to get mid 600 rwhp range.

Are you sure the one you have is 76mm?
Denmah-the MAGNUM/On3 turbos are copies of old T series Garrett units in S cover copies. If you get a 70-76 from them-its not this turbo with a bigger wheel-different turbine, smaller shaft, smaller overall package. Their "new" M400+ series are in GT42 cover copies-again different stuff.
Y2Ks most resemble older Garrett TV series turbos. Some parts are actually interchangeable. The big appeal of the ching Chang y2k is the big shaft and bearing section-which makes it fairly durable even if the balance/machining is a little off. So-that shaft/CHRA with a bigger compressor is appealing-but I am yet to actually see one.

Hey JustAFool, I posted some info comparing the different types of GT45's out there on another thread.... Link Below:

Go about halfway down. It may help clarify the differences. Yes, turbos are generally called after their Compressor Inducer size.
The whole thread (from page 1 on) above is pretty good reading.

The China "GT45"="y2K" as is a knock off to old TV/T series turbos. Those only come in one compressor wheel size-68.x.
The 76/80mm "GT45" China turbos are copies of Garrett GT turbos- namely the GT42. The China GT42-76 and 80mm all use basically an identical copy of the 42's turbine wheel and hotside (both substantially better than the Y2k) and Garretts compressor cover (also much better than the y2k). The 42 wheel is a copy of garrett's 74mm Compressor on the 4202-the 76 and 80mm are old T series Copies suck on the end of the same hotside (why you done see any real turbine options.
So-there really is no "larger" y2k turbo-it just seems China is calling everything a Gt45 these days.

yeah 617rwhp thru an 80e and tall truck tires. that was all the boost we could get out of it on the dyno (always ran less on the rollers than on the street because of dyno roller and weight and other variables.

we were running 20-21lbs and making probably 650ish?
truck was not going faster with much over 18psi so we figured we were out of room to push, also 20lbs just seems like the limit in my head for longevity
