Default Turbo Firehawk build up V 3.0 AES 385 and S88

Well after a short 2011 season with a fresh 347 and a PT88. I ran a best of a 9.5@147mph before my motor met an early demise with a bent stock crank. I spent some time thinking about it and weighing out my options I decided I didn't want to put a forged stock strock crank in my 347. So I parted that motor out saving the rods and main studs to be used in my new AES 385. I knew the PT88 was going to be too small for the 385 so I sold that off as well.

So the plan for the new build is:
AES 385
AFR 205 66cc heads
Vic JR
Ekbow
Virginia Speed VTC2 cam
10.0:1CR

Plans to run 93 and Meth for now. Might to E85 next year after I get things up and running good

Truck manifolds
T6 GT88 (I think)

My AES short block showed up Friday and I will be assembling the long block in the next week or so. I will be ordering my turbo and Torque converter in about 2 weeks as well.

I am planning on welding v bands on the manifolds so that I can run a alternator in the stock location. I am also planning on running a remote mount electric water pump(planning on a rad mounted pump)

Also planning on loosing some weight from the car as it weighed 3625 on my 9.5 pass. Hoping to be closer to a 3450 race weight this year as well.

Here are a couple Engine pics to tide everyone over. hoping to really start making some progress with the car by the end of the month

Short block has Diamond -13cc pistons, My old Callies compstar I beam rods and the callies C series crank. I also had the main caps pinned to help strengthen things up

Nice build, I like that AES 385 motor. You should turn some good power with that thing!

I'm guessing that's an aluminum block 385? Sounds nice, good choice to have the mains pinned also. At 3450, that turbo and 20psi koolrayz went low 5.30's@137 I think and 8.20's in the 1/4 although his car does 60' pretty well it's doable for sure.

Stock crank says it in the first post. Never had it on the dyno but calculators say just over 800 wheel to run what it did at that weight

you need to have this thing up and running for spring o.c. you just need to get some weight out of that tank.

I would like to have it done by OC but I am not rushing to get it done for then. 3 years in a row now I have scrambled to finish it before OC and I don't want to do that again

Its an awesome piece. Only thing above it in line would be the new GT5088. Other then that, nothing really touches it.
