Threw in the 120's and have a good 900rpm idle @14.7 now so I took it out on the street and it spools quick, light acceleration (12% throttle in 1st) gets 2psi and slowly accerating to 50% throttle gets 6psi and it starts pulling very hard, Still tuning on it but so far the holley self learn works well and is fast to adjust.

One thing I will need to change is the exhaust, its too loud. Its got open dumps right after the front tires, sounds cool under boost and medium cruise but turns into what sounds like dumptruck at idle/tip in. The turbos sound like they do nothing to reduce sound dba

gonna go drive it more tonight. Maybe I will borrow a gopro in a few days so I can post a vid

Went for another drive, still can't get over how fast it spools with the large turbos. Just rolling into the throttle slowly it builds boost and once it hits about 5 psi it snaps to 13 psi almost instantly. Im being a total puss and getting out of the throttle fast as im still tuning it. Looking forward to making some longer pulls this weekend

Default stock 5.3 TT build: THE GRENADE (Dyno vid inside)

I was having trouble with transient parts of the tune, as I was trying to drive and watch what cell was needing attention and come to a stop and adjusting it then. The learn works well for steady state and tuning wot but has trouble with low rpm and quick changes, like low load shifts. So I just took it in and put it on the eddy current dyno and got it dialed in pretty well. I havent bought any boost control solenoid yet so this is just on the gate springs. They are 13psi, but it slowly raises to 14 by the end of the run.

Made 684 hp and 745 ftlbs on this run, I had my timing a bit more aggressive on the first pull and it made 775 ftlbs, it spooled alot quicker and felt better on the street with the old spark tune, so I think Im gonna put the old spark file back in it.

So far im pretty happy with the whole setup, Im gonna get an air solenoid from grainger in a week or so and up the boost and see if I can crack 800hp

Thanks again!

I just looked at the logs, 175 IAT, may have to hook up that nitrous soon too! Here is the dyno graph. Has a nice flat powerband. And BTW, how do I change the original title to this thread?

What fuel rails are you using with that LS2 intake?

Does the ls2 intake require that runner plate under the intake like the LS6 does?

What about the steam vent tubes?

I just bought a LS2 intake and was wondering if what else I needed...

Im using edelbrock rails, and I had a friend make some aluminum mounts for me

Im not sure what runner plate your talking about but if you are refering to the valley plate under the intake that bolts to the block then yes you will need that

I made my own steam vent setup

yes, thats what I meant, the valley plate. Does the valley plate have to be specific to my intake? (does it have to be a valley plate off from a LS2 motor, and can any valley plate work? LS1/6 etc...)

Same goes for the steam vents, must be a LS2?

technically it will be easier if you get ls6 intake, valley plate, and tubes but you can mix and match if you are willing to modify the parts.

You can do a google search on the subject and learn more, but I wouldnt be stuck on using an ls6 intake if you havent already bought one, all of the ls series intakes will perform well in boosted enviroment, will some work better than others?. . . . yes but not enough where I would totally rule the others out. I personally would prefer to have 4 corner steam tubes on a so so intake that the "best" intake with 2 steam vents

FYI: Im using my stock unmodified truck valley plate with my stock unmodified ls2 intake, I just made my own steam tube setup to do so
