Default good turbo for 416ci motor for 1000whp

I got a built 416 and wondering what would be a good turbo for it. Don't really have the room for twins have a forced inductions s484 which made 800hp on a t4 setup and back pressure became a problem so having to go to t6 which I should have done in the first place. Didn't know if there was any good choices for a big single t6. Thanks

My first thought was the S484, billet wheel with race cover on the T6 housing

That turbo is a little too small for a 416, not to say it won't work just wouldn't be optimal for that many cubes. Maybe a gt88 or percision 88.

Go with the 1.58 T6 AR if you stick with your S484. I'm sure you could squeak 1000 out of it.

The compressor isn't maxed it's the turbine wheel and housing. I'd want to step up to the GT55 based units. Forced inductions used to make a "small" one that's no larger than the T6 S480's foot print wise. Call them and see what they suggest.

89mm/120 comp wheel, GT55 turbine wheel. Unit flows 146lbs/min. for $2100.

You had other issues if you were seeing backpressure at 800 rwhp with a 484 even if it did have a T4 housing on it.

Did you have a turbine smaller than the 96mm one in it??

With the proper camshaft a 484 will make 1100 on a 416.

gonna try a larger AR and t6. I'm in the 50% efficiency range with this turbo. It would defiantly be better on a 6.0l or 5.3 then I could see easily getting a thousand. But everyone else I've seen goes twins on larger displacement engines. Haven't found but like 1 person that made a 1000 and that was on c16 and a smaller engine.

You arent looking hard at all if you cant find people that have made 1k to the tire with a 484 or a 485.

can you help me out then? Where someone made over 1000hp on a single s484 with a 6.8l or bigger? Cause the s484 compressor map doesn't work good with a larger displacement engine and high revs. It's good for 5.3 and 6.0. I was just wondering what other people's setups were and how they performed. Most people made it to the 900 marker and really no more from what I've found

compressor map?? There is no compressor map for the 484.... at least not for the one everyone keeps referencing here.
