Still gathering parts for my build. Was wondering the best stall or if factory would do:

4l60e (ultra stock)

stock '03 5.3 with '02 LS6 cam and LS2 springs

twin " T70's with .84 a/r (biggest concern)

8.2" 3.08 gears

twin 70s on your 5.3 would spool like twin 60s on my 4.8....very slowly and not fun at all, for the street or racing. and, i was using e85 which spools faster than gas

i would use a single t70 and have a blast.

twin 60s on the 4.8 took 1.2 secs just to hit 1 psi
twin 60s on the 6.0, 0.5

twin 60s 4.8, 4 secs to hit 4000rpms
twin 60s 6.0 , 0.9 secs to 4000 rpms

so, they will definitely work a ton better with a 6.0

They most likely aren't even close to a 70mm turbo then.

The cheap ones have a 52mm inducer on the compressor - they are small. Smaller than a t60 from a branded manufacturer by a lot.

I got bored and looked up the specs for the generic t3/t4 $120 turbo... It's the same things as the generic t3 flange t70 they sell.

Just an ungodly fast car on street tires, that may never see a drag strip and timed runs would be through my g-tech pro until I found a built rear end I could actually afford.

Hmm, appreciate the research friend. I guess with ebay turbos there is a not of interchange parts to keep the prices really low. Well I am committed to this course. When the T70's die, I may spring for something legit.

Single 76 would be fine, I just went 10.25 on street tires(not drag radials) in my LTD with extra weight in the back so weighing in at over 3900lbs and it is just a single 76 and jy 5.3 setup.

Skinnies, not listening to you...lol. You are ungodly fast x3 and who knows the clever tricks you have wrapped up in your build. Seriously though since I have this much time and effort committed to this set up, I will ride it through and see what happens.
Already made that bed and not quite opposed to lying in it. However after they blow (hopefully not on the first day) a name brand T76 and single turbo setup will be embraced.

I went from twin 60's (which I believe 71 chevy now has or had) to T70's on my mild 400 sbc...didnt like it as much. Same housing on turbine but spool was delayed abit. I didnt have enough motor for them. I ran a PTC converter, footbrake to 3K rpm and saw 0 psi. Only once did I get up to 3200 and saw 1-2 psi boost with the T70s. T60's came on abit quicker but still didnt make boost on the line. Tune probably wasnt the greatest for building boost and I never got a chance to work on it, but it was noticeable from a roll on the street...70's were behind the 60's in spool time

You dont need 70's on a 5.3. 60's is as big as i would go. You can make 800whp on 60's. Leave 70's for 1000+

Yep, I still have those 60s. They spool ungodly fast with a 6.0 and a stock cam.

kainedogg, did you already buy the 70s? my buddy has twin t3 EBAY turbos on his 5.3 car and even with a big cam, the car is a beast on the street. it is scary riding in that thing it comes up so fast.

You saw my build thread Chevy...you know I already have them sitting on my coffee table Send me a link to those turbos anyway, if they are as cheap as the T70's ($340), I might get them. Won't be smiling when I do though. What the hell made me think I needed T70's?

same price as the t70s. I think they are a 57mm.

if its true that they are only like a 53 mm like the other guy said, then use them you'll be fine.

the ones my buddy used are $179 each. my vote is that you sell yours for about $250 and buy a USED master power t70 for about $500.

it will spool so fast you wont know what hit ya, and it will make enough power to be useless on street and still be capable of running 9s at the track

but I will grab a T70 (name brand as well) Of course if you come across a deal, you know how we do.
