Thanks! The car has always launched pretty straight so I didn't notice much change from the sway bar as far as that goes, but it definitely changed it's street manners. It feels way better going around a flat corner, and I only have it on the mildest setting right now.
Well once I post up my starting line track vid I think everyone will agree the car doesn't really launch right now it just rolls off the starting line lol
I haven't been able to build more than 1 PSI footbraking it to 2800!? The car just pushes through the rear brakes. I haven't messed with the tune around the launch area this year so I'm sure it can be improved but I also think my 2.5" hot side on the 5.3 is hurting me.
It actually has been more like E70 all year. I only have one station in town that carries it and they must've forgot how to make the summer blend lol.
I probably won't lean on it much harder as it still has the stock tty head bolts, but then again I might have to stretch test them before the 6.0 goes in haha

I think im gonna try it on my 80E after i get my tune in order.
Agent, funny you mention about the 2.5" hotside hurting the 5.3. I have the same on my 5.3 and although i havent tracked my car yet, after lots of reading and reading i think i may redo mine maybe this winter. I think it would help the spool and also be able to provide more than ample power output.
Really though, i shouldnt comment cause i gotta track the car first.
Nice work. Your car looks great.

Haha! I tried the headbolts on the second motor I put in my car this year (temporarily since I didnt have studs) and they didn't seem to cause me an issue! (just everything else haha)
What sort of timing are you running in the 2400-2800rpm range at 90-120kpa?

Your running prob close to the same turbo i am, S475 w a 92 turbine-i use a 2.25 crossover pipe, T4 mounting
I have a 6.0, it doesnt spool very quick, prob some of it is the alumn. hi rise intake, 90 deg adapter, TB-prob a smaller turbine would spool quicker-i was used to Prochargers, so this was my first turbo-I was running a turbo 400, so no overdrive, so i ran a tighter conv. and 3.25 rear gears since its a street car-i am going to install a 2.75 gear set in the 400.
I would imagine a 5.3 would be a little harder to spool-i had been ref. the wastegate at the turbo outlet, switched to behind the TB, i picked up aprx. 2 PSI, so i figured maybe some rest. thru the intercooler, plumbing, TB.
I am going to play with a man. controller., so other stuff
Is the turbo smart one you have elect., or man.-hell, i wish mine would do a burnout like yours, lol

The boost controller is a manual type with a toggle switch to activate the second setting.
Thanks! depending on which burnout you are talking about I might've been using the line lock which definitely makes it easier to light em up.

25 degrees just before boost and 15 after isn't too conservative in my opinion. I run about the same. Maybe ramp it down a little slower? 120kpa could be 21 degrees.. 130 is 19.. then 150+ is 15.
That is on pump mind you, should be able to run more timing on E85 from what I have read.

Here is the first video I got uploaded, an in-car run on 9.5 PSI that was good for 95.9mph

I didn't want to put a trans brake in so I added a 2 step. I love it, I can hit about 5 psi pretty quick on it (with crappy brakes) and it surprised me how hard the car leaves when I let off.
I went from 2.1 60's to 1.89 by putting in a looser converter but
I went from 1.89 60's to consistent 1.62's with The two step. Totally worth the $200 in my book plus it sounds cool :-)

Updated post #1 to reflect rear suspension upgrades.
Got a chance to take the car on a roadtrip to Boise, ended up putting 350 miles on it over the weekend. We had zero issues and lots of fun. It was mostly freeway driving which I wasn't super excited about with no AC but we made it work. Just a little noisy with the window down at 80 mph lol.
Ran most of the freeway at 77mph so I wouldn't be passed by semi's (80mph freeway speed limits and 70 mph for trucks) that was right at 2850 rpm
Managed to get 16.3 mpg round trip, was a little lower than hoped but I didn't expect great fuel mileage at that rpm either.
Also snuck a pic of Trickle's project while I was up there. I'm helping out on the tuning and I know he hasn't posted an update in a while lol
Also discovered how to add a custom splash screen to my EFILive Flashscan too, let me know what you think.

Nice car, clean setup but u need a beefier cam and someone to overlook your tune. 15 degrees @ 12 psi is way too conservative on e70/85. I run 22 degrees of timing @12 psi on e85 with a 5.3 and an on3 78/75 cheap turbo and a Ljms stage 2 turbo cam 3800 stall and 342 gears I run 7.0-7.1 @100 at the 8th mile and 11.0@125 spinning.

Thanks Ron! Yeah those tires were done lol
kha4079, Thanks for the compliments and insight! I realize my timing was set low but was trying to work my way up gradually. Unfortunately the one gas station that carried E85 is no longer selling it so I will probably add a water/methanol kit next, or just run race gas for track outings seeing as I don't make that many....not sure yet. I wasn't going to switch cams on the 5.3 as I'm saving that for my 6.0 that will be going in this winter.
Stay tuned...it should get interesting next summer
