Default Which valvesprings? S475, 5.3, z06 cam

Would the stock ls6 springs hold over 15lbs?

Ideally I would like to run 18lbs. Setup is just a Stock 5.3 with z06 cam and a 1.1 ar t6 borg. The cheaper the better because this is a budget build!

Get the LS7 lifters from GM Performance Parts.
The stock LS1 lifters are not as strong.
The newer lifters are much better design.

Are they necessary? It's a junkyard build I don't want to open a can of worms

I would use Comp Cams OEM lifters and dual springs.

I think your missing the point a bit though. Add in new head bolts/studs head gaskets etc and suddenly this $300 junkyard engine is getting more expensive. I don't want to wind up tearing the whole thing down. Its only got 60,000km so everything should be fresh as well.

pac1218 and stock lifters work great, no reason to replace the lifters or even pushrods at 15psi and z06 cam unless the pushrod length is wrong.
