Default 6.0 vs 5.3 Is it worth the extra $$$

As far as jy pull outs are concerned is the lq4 worth the extra money compared to a lm7 for around 550 rwhp on pumpgas through an auto?

If that's all your looking to make then spend less coin and go for the cheaper 5.3!

Both will make a ton more then your looking for.....

Or even the "unwanted" 4.8.

Hard to say for me cause I have never ran a 4.8 or 5.3 but I have a lq4 and think if thats all you want id go lq4, with the displacement you will get more lowend torque. Mine makes pretty good power and has a very good amount of lowend. Granted if I were to do it again id go 5.3 but im wanting close to 700rwhp at some point

I wanted more low end grunt and quicker spool so I opted for the 6.0 LQ9, so to me it was worth it.

80-100k is fine, most of the fast 5.3 guys have unknown mileage lol....

We've had plenty of 150,000+ mile motors that work great

I would opt for a 100K + engine for boost. The rings gain around .002~.004'' ea 100k miles. They are self clearanced.

For a stock junk yard engine I think a 6.0 would be a waste of money seeing all are limited to the power they will safely make.... all being the same.

YES!!!

i would take an lq4 with a stock cam over a 5.3 with a cam any day. in that scenario, the lq4 is only a couple hundo more but it will make way more low end torque, and be more fun on the street.

i had a 4.8 with a big cam and switched to a 6.0 with a stock cam.

the 6.0 with a stock cam is a lot more fun
