Default can someone ID this turbo?

got this from a friend. not sure if I will be able to use it, or if I should sell it and get something else. it is a Garrett, but has no ID tags on it. intake housing is a .69 AR and the exhaust is a 1.72 AR with variable geometry. supposedly came from an international truck. will my 5.3 spool it? if not could I find a different exhaust housing for it? it only measures out to be a 70 mm compressor wheel. I have searched and searched but can't find anything

for comparison, this is a 68mm Holset HX55 on the left

How did you measure the Turbo? You need the Inducer (little part) and Exducer (big part). That looks like a TV series Turbo.

does look a little familiar doesn't it Steve? lol

LS1lover, I took the compressor housing off and measure the impeller at the tips of the blades (70 mm) and the base of the impeller (101 mm). I haven't pulled the exhaust housing off to measure it, but from looking at it, it looked very similar in size tot he Hx55 pictured above

take it apart, and measure the small and large part of both wheels and then post the dimensions

I have already measured out the compresor wheel. it is 70mm inducer and 101mm exducer. haven't opened up the exhaust side yet though. the large housing is scaring me, but it is still only about a 70mm wheel on the exhaust side so it's not as big of a turbo as it appears to be

well I have some relief, after researching the turbo, it has an electronically controlled variable vane system that will spool it faster and act as a wastegate. I just have ti figure out how to wire it up
