Default 240sx crate LS1 ebay GT45 build thread... I'm probably going to kill myself.

This is my brother's car, but I'm the better fabricator so I'm doing most of the work on this car. Originally, this was an SR20DET swapped car that I made some ballin' exhaust manifold, downpipe, and chare pipe for so we could put an ebay GT35 turbo on. That setup worked surprisingly well, but my brother found an LS1 swap locally that he couldn't refuse. It was a total steal.

Very nice.!
I'm using the Emusa wastegate on a stock lq4 with a ls9 cam and gt45 and the lowest boost I can drop it to is 9lbs. also I only left the soft spring in it. Just fyi. It works pretty good. I have the same bov too. Works like a charm.

Eh, too much of a pain to try to host them elsewhere.

I got the hot side back in the car for downpipe mockup. She is sitting pretty. The downpipe shouldn't be too difficult to rig up.

I think this is where the water to air core is going to sit. I'll need to mount it further recessed in the fender for hood clearance, but that shouldn't be that huge of a deal.

I think 550 or 600 to the wheels would be fun in this car. I'm pretty sure these things run about 2700 lbs... probably 2800-2900 with the LS1 in there.

It's going to be sick when you get it done. I have a ka-t s14 and an ls1 s14. The ls1 car gets so much more attention. They both are fun to drive.

I already got that worked out. The pump came out, and I welded a new hose bung on at an angle to point the hose above the crossover pipe

Did some more work on the car. Wastegate placement and downpipe. Also fitted the charge pipe and water to air core.

Here is the wastegate all welded up except for the last part. I'm not sure if I'm going to put another vband there, or a small flex joint, or just weld it up. Any ideas?

Pretty sure that putting wastegate strait into downpipe creates turbulence. Should try to have it angle with same as exhaust flow. Everything looks real clean though.

I don't see how that's an issue, the whole point of the wastegate is to bypass some of the pressure and flow around the turbo, and that's exactly what it's doing, even if there is some turbulence. I don't think it'll matter much.
