It's almost finished, gotta measure for pushrods, do all the hotside wrap and do the wastegate. Plus alot of small stuff.

Any questions just ask!

Looks awesome. Just a question but why did you run the intake pipe straight down the middle?
Why not through the drivers side and run the stock puller fans? I'm new at the whole Turbo setups but I'm just trying to gather knowledge.

Looks pretty cool to me. I got a question tho:

When you guys mount your turbos down low like that do you run one of those remote oil pumps to pump the oil coming out of the turbo back into the oil pan.

I like the symmetrical look of it going straight down, and even if I chose go run it across Instead of down the front, still hardly any room for fans. Us I'm sure they would melt if they were within 2" Haha

I would like to, but any cash is going toward getting it on the road, then I will do the extra stuff, I am gonna wrap the hotside and downpipe, and a section of the 4" coldside right below the top of the rad.

Mine is fairly low bc it's too big to mount up higher, but the drain from the turbo is still a good bi higher than the pan. I think the rule of thumb is anything greater then 45*. If the drain on the turbo is 8" from the pan, it should be atleast 8" higher, mines about that far.

45* drain angle sure sounds like enough to me. I know Ive read up on that along time ago and dont think it was anything higher than that.

Looks good, the only thing you might have problems with is the 46mm wastegate and controlling boost. Hopefully not though.

The thought crossed my mind, but what's it gonna hurt? I can put the smallest spring I got in it, like a 6or 8 I think. And even if it creeps to 14+, what's the big deal? I just don't understand why people put huge turbos and try and make a ton of power, then they want to be able to turn I down to 4-6#s. If u dOnt wanna run 15,18, even 20psi while driving casually around. Don't push the skinny pedal so hard! You could have it on kill 100% of the time and if u shift the thing at 4k rpm, it's not gonna put u in the ditch lol

i wouldnt wrap the aluminum, it already dissipates heat really well. if you wrap it, its just going to keep heat in and raise your iat some more.

looks great though

I gotcha. My only concern would be if I was trying to keep it at 18 and it crept to 22-23. With a 5.3 though you just go get another one and keep going.

Well I was hoping that it'd reduce the heat that goes into the aluminum, so it doesnt have to disperse it. I was only gonna do a 6-8" section where it passes the downpipe and hotside

I will have to try it, but I am hoping with my smallest spring it will be relatively low. Can't see a 6-8# spring creeping to 24+
