Default 370 forged motor on 15psi breaking up high rpms

I have a 370 cube forged iron block
callies rods
Diamond pistons
plasma moly rings
ARP studs etc

Top end is LS3 heads Manley NEXTEK 700 lift springs and retainers shimmed properly
LS7 lifters
3/8 Comp magnum pushrods
stock rockers w/ comp trunion upgrade

Single plane intake, fast 4150 throttle body and a carb hat

Borg warner s475 t4 83mm 1.10 ar
godspeed 4" intercooler
46mm precision wastegate
godzilla BOV

th400 stalled auto with 4k stall

has 74lb injectors @63 psi
Truck coils with heat sinks
MSD wires
NGK BR7EF plugs gapped to 26

car is tuned at 11.3 a/f and stays there consistently never lean spikes
16 degrees of timing on 93 pump gas

Car pulls like crazy and never noses over but you can feel it stuttering in the upper rpms even though it still pulls...

makes around 12-13lbs in first and second and up to 15 in 3rd gear

and ideas?

The entire setup has less than 200 miles on it..

thanks

About what rpm does it start the break up? Maybe try pinching the plug gap down to .023

it goes through the rpm range pretty fast so its hard to pinpoint exactly where but around 5k and higher for sure...

i will try that and see what it does

Plug gap to .022 like mentioned. I'm at 19psi and mine had to go to .020.

I gapped them to .022 I will take it out in a bit and see how that feels.. it seems like it even has some hesitation while cruising.. so maybe its in the ignition or tune...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOD NO!!!!!!!

Do not do that.

What plugs are in it now and at what gap. EDIT: nvm I see BR7's at .26. .26 is out of the box gap so try .20 as others have suggested.

What are the specs on the cam? Stock ls3 valves?

well i pulled the plugs and went to .022 and it runs great....actually too good..lol it boosted up to 18lbs

I think it had a boost leak too so with the combination of the boost leak fixed and it not blowing out the spark it also is boosting higher...had to turn down my manual controller...

Thanks for the help guys!!

Glad to see you got it figured out. Just wanted to say nothing wrong with 18 psi on the forged motor. I say go 20#'s.

I wouldn't push it anymore than you already are.

That's a lot of boost for pump gas, but then again your cam is lowering your dynamic compression a good bit. What is the static compression? Just trying to get an idea of where your dynamic is.

Dude definitely stop where you are or lower your boost. Not smart at all with a single t4 on pump gas. One hot day and some gas that's off alittle and your done.

Yea I need to get a meth kit on it for sure that's next on the list.. Also need to address my crankcase ventilation. We done away with everything and put breathers on the valve covers. Any suggestions or diagrams.. I am going to turn the boost down to 10psi so I don't break anything

You don't need to do all of that.

If you're able to take the timing down from 16 to 13-14 and the boost to 15psi I would feel semi-comfortable running that.

Would I hold it to the floor everywhere I went with that tune? No, but if your IAT's aren't ridiculously high then you will most likely be ok.

With your cam your DCR is lower than most on here with smaller cams so you're killing some cylinder pressure in itself with the cam you have, I just wouldn't be running that much boost on pump gas alone.

With alky at 100% I'd have no issues running 18psi and 15-16* all day with pump 93, but if it were mine I would put it at 14-15* 18psi and lean it out a half a point if/when you add methanol injection.

I just run a breather on each valve cover and leave the ls6 pcv tube open. No problems in 3 years

Yea if it's a street car then I could see leaving it hooked up and having it, but I also run a breather on my car, granted it isn't a turbo car but...
