Default Turbo Comp Cam LSR 277, will the valves hit the pistons?

I have a std LS1 with a rear mounted Holset HX50, 10 psi boost, SP quick spool valve, cold water cooled inter cooler, bioethanol, 80 pound injectors and proper mapping.
I'm waiting for this cam: http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/c...csid=1424&sb=0
and this valve springs https://www.patriot-performance.com/...7&bestseller=Y
Will the valves hit the pistons?
I need a bit more hp before my next competition and I hope a quick cam swap will do the trick ;-)
I will rebuild the engine after the season with forged rods & pistons so I can turn up the boost..

What motor? Stock heads? Milled? I'd think you woulda been fine unless you installed the cam incorrectly

you should have been fine unless you advanced the cam, or have heads milled (<60cc)

Stock 853 heads, I actually don't know if they are milled..
Can I do any measurements to check that without pulling the head?
Timing should be correct.

if the intake valve is hitting the piston you can retard the cam on the cam gear, its going to move the power band alot further up in the rpm band but it might alow you to run that cam, I think its like 6deg per tooth on the cam gear, take the 360 divided by the num of teeth on the cam gear will give you the num of deg it will move appro....

What I want to know is why did you do a cam swap to make more power when a couple of psi would of done the trick? Cam swap cost dollars, turning up the boost is free.

How much psi can stock pistons and rings take?
In my sport it's really important to have lots of torque in the low end and this cam is made especial for remote installed turbo (I have mine behind the passenger seat) and I hope this cam will reduce the turbo lag together with the quick spool valve.
From 0:53 in this clip you can see a friend of mine running a LS3 with a big T6 turbo. Works well :-D

Thanks!
But first I have to find out if the heads has been previous milled.
Can I measure that without removing the heads?
I got the heads from a guy in England that got them from a guy in USA so I don't have any history on them..

The only way to know if they have been milled is to pull the head and CC the combustion chamber. Cool looking jeep you got there!

You can hit 22-24lbs on the stock pistons/rings on ethonal. What does your tune up look like now? AFR/Timing in boost/Boost numbers.

I am his friend with the LS3 engine.
He runs basically the same tune I have with around 11.8 AFR and 19 degrees of timing with straight E85.
He runs a water to air IC and around 110 degrees IAT while I run just water injection with 30% meth and have around 130 degrees IAT.

I boost 16 psi and he is at 8 psi for now.......

It looks like you guys bog the motors pretty good, that looks like some insane fun on the sand.

On the street, you can run the boost higher and wouldn't have needed to change the cam unless all you are chasing is faster spool.

Waiting for new forged pistons and rods, that will do the trick

You can run way more than 10 psi on the stock internals. I guess you like spending money.

that seems scary lean for E85 under boost!

That would be 11.8 on a LC1 calibrated for gas so it is no problem. I did the mistake first to tune it to 7.5-8.0 on this scale (as opposed to E85 stoich 9.7) and it was terrible.

I have been running my engine like that for three years with no issues.
