Default JY 5.3 w/gt42 in foxbody

I recently got my jy 5.3 on the road and took it to the track. The build consists of jy5.3l, stock heads, rod bolts, head studs/gaskets, victor jr w/elbow, alky control meth and a tsp cg cam. The car made 615whp with the tune not being finished due to the trans braking on third pull. Right now the car is a 6spd and full street trim. The car ran 10.63@137 with a 1.616 60'. I think a turbo 350 would benifit me greatly and possibly put me in the high 9 range. Just was curious on your thoughts and if you all running autos behind your turbo build thought it would benifit me also?

What model turbo is that?

I have a gt42-94R on my 6.0. It's all stock besides ls6 cam/springs. Blow through on e85 it went 10.75@131 in a no weight removed Gbody on 12#. That was with a powerglide and 3.50 gear. Car left very lazy and had a 1.73 sixty.

I've used PTC for 2 different set ups. The first one was dead on the money and the second one is awesome on the street. I haven't had it to the track yet but I will this coming weekend. Customer service is second to none and I paid $450ish for them.

I run an fti converter from Greg. It was a lil steep at 820 shipped but worth every penny. Those guys will spend hours making sure we the customer are satisfied. I would think an auto would put you in the mid to high 9's! My car ran 10.31 34xx lbs on a 150 shot threw the old converter. Puked the motor(ls1 h/c/i) before I got a chance to run with the new fti piece. What could I have been making 500 though the th350? Can't wait to bust out my first 9 sec pass with the 6.0 although my new cam is considerably smaller. Ttp v3 234/244 598/609 112 lsa to the new mti stealth 2 224/220 581/581 115 lsa. Good luck man you will love the auto I know when I swapped from the 6 speed I never looked back. Plus I keep kept my clutch pedal to put my foot on once in a while lol.
