Default borgwarner match bot

So I'm trying to use the match bot to pick a turbo. ( already have and 475/83 turbine) But after intimid8's thread about running to small of a turbine I thought i'd try and learn some more. Enter the match bot.

It seems that a 370 at 7000 rpm with a 110 mm turbine will choke the wastegate. I don't know what else to change in the match bot. Or weather I've inputted the correct data. The compressors are limited.

Take a peak.

What the hell is all that? Just put a bigger turbine wheel in and end it.

I've ran at least 5 combos on the bot.
Everyone had waste gate choke=yes.

I suspect it represents when flow velocity goes super sonic but can't find anything at all defining what it means in this usage.
I did waste a lot of time reading complete BS on ricer forums looking for an answer though.....

Interesting note on your posted bot setup. It has a 46mm gate diameter. This is a calc'd result by the bot btw and not user definable.
I haven't seen anyone with that small a gate on a 9x mm turbo.
Try your setup except use 6600 and 408cid. It has a 56ish mm gate on a 1.0 110mm turbine.

It just seems weird to me. I don't think I need a 110 turbine (witch I can't get on my 475 anyways) but the 96 turbine chokes the wastegate starting at 4000. The car is light and will be an m6. I just don't wanna make the wrong choice the second time.

The wastegate size it picks is a min required I think.

Take matchbot with a grain of salt. They have not updated in a while and there are a ton of turbines that some places offer that are not on there. It is a good tool to get some ideas about what might be needed, but none of the "older" bw turbos are on there.

As for the wastegate choke, I think that mainly applies to the ones with internal wastegate (efr series) as it could not know which wastegate you have on the set up....what if you had triple 60mm wastegates on the set up? Don't think those would be choked.

Matchbot is a nice toy to play with but needs alot of refining.
