LQ9 GT4780 turbo in a 240sx
I have recently started my build and got a negative comment on another forum about my pictures, just wondering if my piping setup is going to work, or if im missing something. These pics are rough mock up and I will be ceramic coating and cleaning everything up.
Its a stock LQ9 with ARP head bolts and rodbolts, 317's, LS6 intake and mild turbo cam, with PAC 1218's, and other supporting mods, Built T-56
Turbo is a Garrett GT4780 with custom T4 .96 exhaust housing (Precision)
Precision 46mm wastegate
Car weighs 2600lbs
Im going to run between 8-12psi
2 1/2" Hot side

Truck manifolds with v-bands

Taack welded only/ Wastegate is going just below flange on the appropriate angle, and dumping out my fender.

Lol, I'll post my dyno results after his comment. (If they are any good)
Okay thanks guys, I thought it would work just fine. I was hoping with the smaller backside may make it spool a bit faster, but I hope it doesnt cause backpressure issues. If it does I guess ill have to put a T-6 housing on it. My hp goal is 600-700 hp, I think I should be able to hit somewhere around there. What do you think it will make at 8-12 psi?

I don't think that turbine side is too small at all. Plenty people running pt88's and even 7675's on 6.0's making great power. This should be a good combo so don't second guess your choices (get's too expensive that way).

That .96 a/r is probably gonna choke you a little up top, but it will spool decent and make for a fun street car. As far as that fab work gose it looks fine man, and at the end of the day people are gonna talk **** that's what people do. After you build a few your welding skills and fab skill will get better and so will your work. Just do the best you can and go from there. That cars gonna be a monster no matter what the fab work looks like!

when the car is making 5-600 and going 10s off a foot brake and doing 1000ft burnouts they usually have nothing to say...
funny how that works eh?
i have a thread on the bullet someone posted one of my videos of me and my friends using an impact gun to tighten head studs on a recent 5.3 turbo mustang project, they had 30 pages worth of **** talking to do, well when the car made 534rwhp and 705ftlbs and went 10.55 on the foot brake there were only three comments on how nice it ran... lol
keep up the good work, let me know if you have any questions, i like helping people out.

Just finished up my s13 turbo build. Used a 4.8 and front mounted a eBay gt45. Weight without me in the car and 1/4 tank of gas was 2680. This is basically no interior except s14 seats and complete dash. Last year with ls1 n/a the car weighed 2507 with half a tank of fuel and full exhaust. Also, my car was 50/50 last year and is in the 55/45 range this year with no weight added.
Good luck, hope to hear that you are flying soon!

Thanks everyone, I hope to have it done in the next few weeks. I do all my own work (Except Dyno) so a lot of it is trial, error and research. People will say a lot through a keyboard, I guess. The car went 11.5 with Lq4, Ms4 cam and 799 heads. So I can't imagine what it will be like turbo. Especially for a tagged street car. I'll post again once I have it running.
