Oddly I'm pretty sure they were sold to me as 74cc about 5 years ago. I needed them in a huge rush, so really I was happy to get anything at the time. They are absolutely not 64cc though

But when I measured them myself earlier in the year I would have said they were closed to 72cc. Wouldnt say my measuring practise was 100% accurate though.

So my 74cc may be wrong and it could well be 70cc.

Nothing is never perfect. Gotta measure them anyway, just to make sure. I have had heads be off on the cc of chambers so many times. It's never what's advertised.

Try calling Richard at West Coast Cylinder Heads (LS1Tech sponsor). He machines the Edelbrock castings; you can get them with 74cc chambers using HIP'd castings which makes them very durable for forced induction applications.

ProComp are 80cc IIRC. Not that I'd use them for FI...

For FI, you can get Cometic's w/ thicker compressed thickness, they won't cause detonation issues like they would in a NA setup.

Just curious why you are looking for something larger than 72cc?

I built my engine with low compression pistons, 72cc AFR's, and Cometic gaskets, and I managed to only get 9.06:1 static compression out of it. But in hindsight I really wish I wouldnt have done that, because now I am going single front mount and E85, and that 9:1 compression is not good for either one of those. Wish it was more in the 10.0 - 10.5 range.

Just fit new pistons then ? Or use lots more boost.

Well, my AES 390ci is on its way to me right now. I had them buuild it with 10.8:1 cr......with flat top pistons, so I won't have such an N/A dog for the next 8-9 months.

Then when I install the turbo in 8-9 months I'll be using full time E85 fuel for sure but still wanted to lower the compression a little bit when I get new heads. My heads now are 69cc so I need some larger chambered new heads to drop the compression. Using LS9 head gaskets.

I don't want to do a piston change later on...........

I plan to go 18psi......single turbo....E85. 100% street car. Will never see a drag strip.

So are those pistons in it now suitable for boost ? Or are they a n/a piston ?

The two are not the same.

And having driven my own n/a when I first put it together a few weeks ago. At around 9.0:1 it could hardly be described as a dog. It drove superbly and went far better than I expected.

Pistons are flat top and made for boost. I figured on E85 and 10.3:1 I'd be safe from detonation and get a faster spool.

I should be 10.8 right now......going from 69cc up to 72cc will give me 10.3:1 cr. if we figured right.....

69cc heads
.051 gaskets
Flat pustons
3.825 stroke
4.030 bore

Anyone else know of larger cc thick deck heads than 72cc?

Or can chambers on 72cc heads be worked and made to be larger than 72cc???
