Default I bought an 4.00 PEP crank. Anyone eles run one of these? Pics inside.

So my parts guy talked me in to trying out a Precision Engine Parts 4340 nitrided crankshaft. , Said they have used in in plenty of builds over 1k hp. And had nothing but good to say about them. So i figured i would give it a try in my build. But curious if anyone else has ran one of these? or parts from them? Here is a couple pictures.

Me personally, a crankshaft is not a piece I would "give a try". I would only choose what has been proven sucessful. JMO

I can barely even find any info on that crank. I think I would trust a stock crank before I would trust that one.

Just like most things. It says its casted in China and finished here in the states.

OP, who is your builder and what motors have you seen from him that make 1000 hp? How much did you pay for that crank?

I hear you on that. Your right, But nothing can be proven unless people give it a try. Might be something i regret. Sure hope not.

Yup just like most callies and eagle and other brands casted in chain. But don't know how that makes it better then stock,,,, but then again.... i have not been able to put it to the test my self... "was hoping to hear from anyone else that has" But being 4340 non twist nitrate treated, I would hope its better then stock, And was around the 800$ range......

Default PEP= Precision Engine Parts

Dont worry about the crank failing in a turbo application. There are more then 20Turbo cars I know of that run the cranks and rods and spring kits. They balance easy and have the second keyway cut for a keyed balancer. Thanks 96lt1m6.
