Update time:
Transmission is in and works!
Was a pain in the ***... i mounted the motor to the solid mounts which didn't allow me to pull the tranny down enough to bolt up to the cross member. So it was a week long fiasco to get things right. In the end, my dumb self welded all my hotside with the motor in its non tranny state early on. so i had to cut slits and lean the flanges back to accommodate the tranny pulling the motor down. but once that was done, i got my tranny cooler hooked up and started the car to test gears on jack stands. I just have brake lines left and a few small things to tie up and ill be driving.

Well The time has finally come! I got to drive this thing around the block!

I got the brake lines done and a few small things wired so i was able to drive it around. I had to come back to school on sunday so i didnt have much seat time. I also lost some lug nuts so i didnt wanna get to wild. I have a few things to work on before its ready for the road.

Very nice build man. I'm actually going to pick up my 4.8 for my turbo build I'm working on this afternoon. Glad to see you got it running! Subscribing to this thread to see how it all works out for you.

Small update: selling my 295s to buy 275s. i like the 275 tire and want to lower the rear of the car more to balance out weight.

When i got on the gas a big, i have an oil leak coming from the oil pressure sending unit area. so ill have to remove the intake to check that out.

Other than that i just have to re install a few more interior panels and get it inspected and it will be road worthy.

Sounds like Crankcase pressure blowing oil out between your valvecovers and head. I had the same thing happen to me, oil all over the back of the engine and firewall. Do you have a check valve in your PCV setup to prevent manifold pressure going into crankcase?

i think its just cause i didnt tighten the oil pressure plug down tight... had to do it with motor in. was a pain in the *** and i have no idea if it is tight. but i do have a catch can. only problem with that is that im still using the stock truck valve covers which dont have the right hookups so im kindof guessing on hookup routing.

I hear ya. Hope that's what it is. It wasn't in my case. lol.

Are you running any pcv between the valve covers and TB? If yes... Do you have a 1 way check valve between your throttle body and the valve covers?

I know its been a while but i have a pretty big update!

Ive been at school most of this time and recently got a job at a dealership here near where im going to school. So most of this happened on the weekends back home when i found time to come home. I know have the car with me at school so ill have more time to work and play with it. I just got safety inspection done so now i just need to find time to go get my plates.

So here some of the stuff ive done in the past few weeks.

made a front bumper support added on to my interooler mount. Bumper was sagging really bad with no place to bolt to so i made one.

As you can tell, my body lines are in rough shape. They are better now but still need attention.

Then this is what happens when the roads closed and you find a dirt road after it rains...

As you can see in that picture, A guy at work had a th400 that had a case leak. So i got a free th400. My plan is to learn how to rebuild them so i dont have to source that out.

My dumb *** welded over the stock seat bolt hole... so of course i had to buy a kirkey. install was easy. I will post more pictures when i get a chance.
used wood to determine where i wanted it to sit.

sorry about the swerving into the other lane. there is a dip in that lane. You can here my intercooler mount scrape. dont mind my tach either... had to take it out and forgot to put the needles in the right place.

Nice work, I'm currently just starting a very similar build (gathering parts) so you did end up with the s475 1.32 t6? How's it spool? I'm going with that turbo on a 5.3. Also I was told the ls6 intake doesn't fit with the truck water pump but I see you got it to fit, what did you have to do?

yea i do have the s475, right now im messing with power enrichment to get inot boost faster but its not bad spool times considering its a stock 4.8 with ls1 heads which lowers the compression lol im actually using a ls1 water pump now. the truck pump stuck up to high for my liking. the truck water pump fit it just needed som massaging of the water neck.
