Default LQ4 with KY Turbo

Well..... On Sunday my h/c ls1 let go on the dyno. Not sure why as I haven't pulled the engine yet. Anyway, thinking of doing a boost setup on the car. The setup I have in mind is a KY turbo kit and a low mile junk yard LQ4. Is there anyone out there that has done this combo or something similar? I am not looking on making any crazy numbers and am looking to make about 525-550rwhp. Without touching the lq4, with the exceptions of cam and valve springs, is this a safe power level? Or am I going to blow this thing up in a week? Your tips and thoughts are greatly appreciated.

P.S. The car is mainly a street car and may see the track 4 to 5 times a year.

Do it! Good tuning will be the determining factor on engine lice span

Speed Inc will be doing my tuning and I have all the faith in them that they will do a great job. I just want to see some guys that have done this combo and the car is still alive and not blown up like my current setup is.

525 should be no problem at all with the right tune.

Looking for info on what is "safe". What kind of boost are you pushing to make x hp? How much boost did you through at it before i broke? How long did it last? My plan would be stock LQ4 and then build a boost motor on the side. Jus want to get car up and running! Any info on what to do is greatly appreciated.

In other words Speed will tune it right so no worries there and IMO it will last a Few years at 550ish hp. I wouldn't even think twice about making 550 on stock bottom end.

I'm also in the same predicament so I'm curious to hear what other people think.

Thanks for the input guys. No one else has done this? I know there are plenty of junk yard LQ4 guys out there. Just looking for your $.02 before I drop 8 grand on this thing!
