Default Crank cog for supercharger

Im looking at a d1sc and will be fabbing my own brackets for my ls engine in a first gen Camaro. This is going to sound really stupid... But how do i hook the cog or 6-8 rip pulley to the crank? Do i have to have an aftermarket balancer? If so, which one will work?

If running stock crank then you need to pin the crank. I had an aftermarket crank.

Any pulley to fit an LS engine will work with the stock crank.

So what exactly is the question ?

Buying a kit will save you a lot of grief.

There is no kit. I have an lq4 in a 68 Camaro. I have gone to great time and expense getting the kwik bracket and the proper ps pump on the right side. Every kit I've seen uses the reverse rotation procharger and i don't have the clearance to put the procharger in front of the engine. The only option is the brute speed transplant kit but it puts the blower on the wrong side and id have to move the alternator, etc.
Im going to have to fab a bracket.

What i meant above is what supercharger pulley works with the stock balancer? I don't want to have to spend $450 on an ATI balancer.

I don't know of anyway to use a cog kit with a stock balancer, and you wouldn't want to try it anyway. Pulleys that bolt to the stock balancer have pins on them that fit into the slots on the factory balancer. The pins would most likely be ripped off in short order with a cog kit. The next problem is the bearings in the D-1SC probably won't hold up to the additional pressure that a cog belt places on them. This is why all the ProCharger cog kits use the f series blowers.

Here is the cog crank pulley adaptor. http://shop.brutespeed.com/ATI-DC017...DC017A-002.htm Bob

There is no way to bolt another drive pulley to the factory pulley.

The Powerbond PB1480SS is a $200 pulley onto which another drive setup can be bolted, and is what I use with my blower.

Obviously it will require an adaptor to adapt to whatever drive pulley you choose.

Stevieturbo does that balancer work with accessories with a stock ls1 depth?
Bob - I've given up on the cog idea. Id like to try a 6-8 rib pulley. Any 8 rib pullies that bolt to the stock crank you know of?

It is a direct replacement for a Camaro type LS1/6 with normal Camaro accessories.

I bought a second hand add on 8 rib crank pulley that keys into the openings on the stock F-body balancer. Remove the stock balancer bolt and install this and then re-install a new balancer bolt. I bought the 6 rib balancer bolt from procharger. It is a bit longer to compensate for the added thickness of the add on. Key the stock balancer first. Never put it to use and sold the car.

Yes, it will work with a D-1SC but you're really better off with an ATI Performance Products 918853 balancer and the ProCharger crank pulley that bolts to it. The crank pulley I showed you is held on with the center bolt and has pins that fit into slots on the factory balancer. Over time these pins can bend under torque. A decade ago, I ran a D-1SC using the factory balancer with the 6 rib pulley that has the pins, as that was the only combination ProCharger had at the time. I never had a problem with it.

Boost is adjusted using the pulley on the head unit. 8 rib pulleys are available from 3.40 up through 5.25. Bob
