BW s480 build. Ls1 block or 6.0
I am about to start my turbo build. The turbo is a s400sx4-80. 88/96 T6 with a 1.32ar. I will he running a a2w intercooler and jgs BOV and gate. I have two engines in mind and I have some budget constraints.
First engine and my original plan.
Lq4 block with stock crank and forged rods and pistons. I have ported 823 casting heads and a single plane intake. But i don't have the lq4 block.
Second engine ls1 block stock crank and forged rods and pistons. I would run the trick flow heads with this engine and the edelbrock pro flow intake.
I think the deck thickness of the ls3 heads will be more of a power limited than ls1 block. With the money I save not buying a lq4 block and selling my ls3 heads and intake the cost of the two builds will be pretty close when its all said and done.
I would also like the 80 lbs drop off the nose of the car. My power goal is anywhere from 800-1000 rwhp not real concerned with dynos #s but track times. the car will be around 33
00 with me in it if I go with the aluminum block. And I would like to run a 8.99 or better. I will be running low boost and pump gas on the street and c16 and ice in the tank at the track and up the boost as much as i can

So which of the two engines would be a better choice? I want to run the ls1 block if it will hold up. No one ever talks about ls1 blocks anymore. I know there are some Stock bottoms end nitrous cars running a lot of power.

Thanks I have been doing a lot of reading and I really think ill be fine. I'll start a build thread soon. I just found a deal on some all pro heads so I'm going to grab them up and put my ls3 top end up for sale.
