heard of them but yeah the price up there. seems like even 2 of the 66s would become a restriction though, with them being T3 based

Thats the same design behind late model diesel turbos. They work quite well. Would be nice to see one on an ls car and how it worked out.

Got a link for one in particular? Generally speaking, medium frame diesel turbos tend to be decently suited for LS motors (in like the 12L class).

they sell a twin turbo system for a G8. its freaking rediculously expensive but pretty cool all the same. If they could apply this tech to regular turbos for self contined oil systems thats would be pretty cool.

im sure they could, the design isnt that complicated and i think its pretty cool actually. bigger just means more expensive and idk if they'd sell that much when conventional turbo's can be had for much, much less and running oil lines isnt that much of a PIA

The TT kit for the G8 was $16,000... that's just stupid. For that much money, you could buy a forged ~400 cube motor with a decent sized single turbo setup and make double the power.

true. if they up the turbo size they wouold be more viable for big builds for big power. I also thought what was intersting and what was making the turbo problaby alot more expensive, other then the fact that it has a completly differnet oiling system, is the variable vain wheels for boost response with in the turbo itself.

they are based out of KC here or were...they had a G8 and a snowmobile also I think an atv they'd always bring out to a local bike night a few years ago. I haven't seen or heard anything about them local in about 4 years.

When it comes to 2 stroke engines, they where the only game in town for a long time.

That price is a bit steep. There is a company now offering a controller for the Duramax VVT turbos I have heard. That would be the way to go...if they were available at all

I used two of these on a 6.0 with log manifolds years ago, they worked well. The variable vain was built in and the boost response was quick, but the turbo's were small. I ran 12.0 with a 6.0 Escalade around 1999 and it drove well.

That's pretty impressive, even with current technology.

Apart form the VNT, what dose this turbo offer that others dont? The bearing arangment is instresting, whats the advantages of the bearing being in front of the compressor and the comp and turnbine housings being closer? Be nicer to be able to moun tthe turbos and any angle!....

the Variable area turbine nozzle is pretty cool. eliminating the wastegate and the turbo fully in charge of boost pressre is a pretty big change.

i mean in the scope of history its not really "new" so to say but that fact that they are making it applicable to gas powered vehicles is pretty cool. I know borgwarner has been doing this on desiels for a while.
