Default Junkyard 5.3l turbo build, will this cam suffice?

I have a cam sitting in my garage from my early LS1 modding years. Its a 222/222 .556 .556 112 Will this cam be ok for a junkyard turbo build? I loved the way this cam sounded and produced such a flat tq curve. Wouldn't mind using it instead of buying something else...

It'll definitely work. Not optimal for turbocharging, but definitely an improvement over a stock cam.

Yeah I figured anything would be better than stock and I know it isn't optimal for turbocharging. I wanted to make sure I help the situation rather than hurt it, but then again a LS9 cam is only $130 from my local dealer I think.

That cam should work pretty good. Not worth buying a new one IMO

That would be a good cam to use with a single turbo such as an On3 70/76mm

The mild exhaust wont overdrive the turbine.

The lobe sep creates a little more overlap than is typical of a cam that size.. thats where your sound is coming from somewhat.

Install it on a 107 or 108 intake centerline and let her go.

Good, now that's some money saved. I wouldn't mind hearing it again and seeing it put to good use. Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't be one bit afraid to run it.
