Default 2006 GTO Almost done

Hi everyone, I am new here but I have had my GTO 5 years now. I finally made the decision to TT my GTO so I purchased a full kit with twin 3582R's.

I have an LS2 with 6,000 miles on it, and I think we're doing katech rod bolts and arp head studs. I have 317 heads with Manley 1mm+ valves. LS9 head gasket, Speed Inc TU2 cam. Victor Jr with 6061 elbow to a NW 102 DBW.

Anyone one what hp level we should stop at with the stock motor ? This car is being 4L80 swapped.

What kind of ETs could I expect with this on a 28" tire? Relatively stock interior. Etc. maybe Corbeaus.

If the stock ls2 goes. I'm buying a 427 from LME or ERL.

Appreciate it everyone and thanks.

I say 650-700whp and if its got a stock gear and it will 60ft well you should be in the low tens. Is that the upp kit?

Jester on ls1 tech with a 80e and like 620whp is running low low 10's. Last time out he almost broke into the 9's. He's on stock motor, cam, all stock driveline but a dss drive shaft. I dont think he's even done bushings or anything. He was running that on a mt dr.

Since we are talking an auto I'd stick with 550/600 whp keeping the tune as safe as possible. Friend has a aps car setup similarly running 11.1/11.2s with 1.8 60 fts. Really depends on how fast you want to go and how long you want the car on the road before you have to pull the engine out.

I think with good tuning you could push it safely to around 750-800rwhp and get low 10's out of it.

On stock internals and have it live for awhile? Good luck with that.

My sincere apologies to the OP but I was unaware TT kits were available for the GTOs.

What companies makes them?

Want to tell me why not. 800rwhp in a 4000lb car. Id be pissed if it didnt go 10's. He said its an 80E swap so he can launch it pretty easy and run down the number without breaking the stock driveline.

sell the motor while its in working order to go ahead and get the ERL 427. or if you have the spare cash laying around...send it to the moon.without some sort of suspension under it i doubt low 10's will be obtained easily...but ill be the mph will be there for it.

The LS2 will handle plenty of power if the tune is right.
A buddy has a custom twin kit on an 06 GTO, totally stock car except for the twins (GT35 copies) and it makes an easy, safe 575 rwhp at 10 psi, through the stock style cat-back.
Ran 11.3's at like 130, six speed manual.

Op this is much more realistic unless your just looking for a dyno number before you start having issues. First APS M6 GTO to hit the 10s was on the stock engine. Shortly after he started having issues and pulled the engine. IMOP if your popping the motor open anyways forge it while your there. Can you make a lot of power with stock internals sure you can if that's your only goal then boost it till it blows. If you want some reliability factored in do it right the first time.

We made 968rwhp through a stalled auto and 9" on a sbe ls2 with arp rod bolts. It lasted through a few street pulls but ended up egging the rod journals. 750-800 will last a while with a good tune on good gas. I was on e85...

Not sure how this is being missed. Running 10s not a big deal running 7/800 whp with what the op listed it can be done as well. How long it last will be the gamble. Op be sure to post up a thread when you build it maybe we can do a poll on how long it will live

Running 10's with 600hp is not a big deal in a GTO.

Lol not sure why some people think a gto can't run the number. They'll pull a decent. 60' with stock suspension.

No one in this thread doubts a GTO can run the number. Only thing being questioned is can the ls2 with the ops mods live in the 800whp range and for how long.
