Default s475 on untouch ls1, what to expect with 9psi

so just ordered my s475 turbo with 96mm turbine wheel and 1.32 a/r from forced inductions........ thats what they recommended. The car still has stock cam and intake. Like i said long block is untouched. It will be front mounted using manifolds.

60-75 pound injectors

possibly meth injection to be safe..

What should i expected rwhp on 9psi????

Not looking to set any certain number just like to know what to expect.
I have a 6.0 on engine stand for forging future for a backup but wanna run a safe, fun tune on the stock ls till it lets go. Since its already in there lol....

All input is appreciated...

Thanks

My guess would be current rwhp x ~1.6 for 9psi, should put you in the 450-500 range.

Honestly, at 9psi with an S475, I really don't see you being any less than 500rwhp on a t56. There are many people in that range with smaller turbine units pushing closer to 550rwhp at close to 10psi on ls1's. It's all in the tune though, remember that. =)

Yes stock everything. Anything over 500 will be satisfying till i get the 6.0 built.

im in the dark why i would need springs if i dont plan to turn rpm higher than stock limiter setting. Not doing rod bolts so plan to keep rpm down.....

Its not just rpm , but it has to do with how much harder the cam lobe will be throwing the valve open ( along with forced air pressure pushing on the valve) and having enough spring pressure to snap the valve shut.

trust me if you dont do springs , youll be "that guy" making a , "help me figure out why my car wont make any power past 5400 rpm" thread . Dont be that guy.

With that being said, im going to say , 475-480 rwhp

you need springs and pushrods at the very least. if you put over 10* timing in it you should see over 500, but again its all in the tune.

well if im gonna do pushrods and springs i might as well get the cam to lol. That would pick my power up even more..... But i want the weekender to last a while so not wanting to push my luck. And again i could transferr cam over to 6.0 later to so its spend money now or later basically. Any tips for turbo cam??

I wouldn't throw a cam in it just because you're already putting springs and pushrods in it, you only have to pull the valve covers for those. I would, however, put a cam in it because it will help spool and power. Also, it's not going to be any less reliable if you keep the rpm's in check.

Boost against the back of the intake valve will be fighting against the valve springs causing float.

Jeez, I missed the springs part, yes... definitely, while you're doing it, toss a good cam in there with pushrods and springs and go for it. You'll be happy with it.
