Need help with Cam selection
I'm building a 6-bolt Lsx 403 with an 88mm for now (up to a 101-106mm later) and will run on Alky w/ no intercooler. Below are the basic components that I have in mind on ordering.
Forged crank, rods, pistons. (10.4 cr)
PRC Ls3 aftermarket 255cc 6-bolt heads
Victor ls3 intake with elbow
235lb Moran injectors (w/appropriate fuel sys)
28" tires, 3.25 gears, th400, 4200 to 4400 stall. (3800lbs race weight)
My goals are in the 950 to 1150 whp area for now but want to leave room in the setup to go higher Hp with a bigger turbo (pt4788 currently) down the road. I do not want to spin the engine much 6700 to 6900rpm. I'm just having fun, not chasing anyone in certain classes so the lower rpms should help extend life.
The biggest thing that is far away from previous builds is this one being Turbo & Alky. Any help or direction to the right cam guy is appreciated as I know there are a few Turbo Alky guys on here. Thank you in advance.

The turbo I have is a PTE PT4788 -- T6 0.96 a/r. It has the same internal wheels a the GT4788 but has the smaller compressor cover from the old pt88. Its rated to 1450hp where the GT4788 is 1600hp ... at least that what I was told. HTH

on the transbrake ,its on the spring setting (11 psi) and 5300 rpms in 1.1 seconds (this is as of my last datalog last sunday) the spool is ridiculous
i'll check to see when it hits positive and 5 psi when I get home today.
with a 408 and methanol, lets just say you wont be worrying about spool. you'll be trying to tame the boost onset.
